Hotel Continental - Reims

"A really lovely hotel with fantastic staff, a great location and a very nice overall atmosphere. The bar staff were particularly good and everyone we dealt with was genuinely warm and welcoming. That said, for the price, there were a few things that stopped it feeling like a five star stay. The room was nice but quite small, and one of my pet peeves unfortunately happened here, two single beds had been pushed together to make a double. Given that the hotel knew we were staying for my partner’s 30th birthday, this felt a little annoying. The biggest disappointment was the advertised sauna. It’s an infrared sauna that guests have to operate themselves, and it takes well over 30 minutes to heat up. Given that a typical sauna session is around 10–15 minutes, it doesn’t really function as a practical sauna during a normal hotel stay. I’d much rather the hotel be clearer about what this actually is. None of these things ruined our stay, we really did enjoy the hotel. But given the price, I think there are a few relatively simple things to improve before it deserves five stars. The lovely staff, great location and overall feel of the hotel definitely make it somewhere I’d consider staying again."

"The bed was comfy and the room was clean. It is in a great location, located on one of the main streets in Riems, 10 minutes walk from the cathedral. Being on one of the main tourist streets, it was noisy all night, (Riems is a buzzing city with plenty of partying students!😂), with revellers still going at 3am, followed by the street cleaning lorries at 5am. If you are looking for a relatively cheap city hotel in a great location, then this could be the place for you …… However, it is pretty basic and you probably wouldn’t want to spend your honeymoon there."

"OK for a night stop. BLUF - this Campanille is let down by its location - a battered industrial estate, with a bad "vibe". Night time is dominated by the screech of car tyres with kids in hot hatches doing donuts. But..... Staff are great, and I sent a message through the Hotels.com portal asking for an easy access room as my partner was in a leg cast, and was given one on the ground floor about 10m from reception. Parking: a mixture on and off street but none is secure. Rooms are small but adequate for this price point. Breakfast was OK, and buffet style. There is a restaurant for dinner, but we did not use it. Lots of guests had dogs, so assume they are welcomed."

"Everything about the best western in this city was excellent from the front desk staff to the Walit staff to the young lady who made up the room. The room is large, extremely comfortable mattresses, and the amenities were excellent. I’d also send a special shout out to Vincent at the front desk thank you very much for all your help."

"The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel was modern and a 30 minute walk from the Notre-Dame and cenhtre-ville. Bedroom and bathroom was a good size, but lacked hanging space. The included breakfast was decent, but the machine coffee and tea was poor. The one criticism that deducted a star was the lack of water pressure in the shower, pretty poor. For the price, our stay was value for money. We would stay again."
