"Positives: Beds very comfortable. Good bedding. Good hot water in shower.Host send help right away to resolve a couple of issues. Negatives: place could use some paint on walls and door. Hot water not working well in bathroom and kitchen sink. Barely warm water. Oven was old and not inviting to cook in. Heat pumps don’t heat well throughout. Good thing we bring a portable heater. I have to say the photos made this place look more inviting than actually was so can’t rate as high as I would have...

"Staff were excellent at the front desk, gave us a welcome drink and a full tour of the facilites. Restaurant staff could use some training and a better process for servicing the tables. Hotel is clean, quiet and secure. Pool area with sauna and Turkish bath is very nice."

"This hotel was just amazing. From the building itself, to the rooms, to the staff, the pool and especially the food in the restaurant. Definitely the highlight of our motorcycle trip. Safe off-road parking too which was a plus. Previous reviewers complained about the road up to the hotel (absolutely fine - just a normal road) and the wi-fi (worked perfectly plus good 4G signal). I would be hard put to find anything to complain about this stunning oasis. All the staff were perfectly polite and friendly. Thank you especially to Silla who was an absolute pleasure to deal with and so helpful. She was always smiling even though she seemed to be there from breakfast until after evening dinner. If you are reading this review - just book it - you will not regret it."

Bar & restaurant felt understaffed at dinner time as service in both was slow (more a management issue as the staff present were clearly working hard). Kids menu available in restaurant only. "Excellent hotel in Covilhã, we visit Covilhã every couple of months for medical reasons, there are two hotels that we use, both with pools, depending upon the price at the time. This time it was Donna Marie. Excellent as always, everything works, is clean, and relaxing. The pool area is incredible, a good sized indoor pool, poolside recliners, jacuzzi and shower. The outdoor area is really cool Lots of recliners and squishy chairs & sofas with parasols ☺️ Very good breakfast buffet, the fried eggs are cooked to perfection 😋 Lots of breads, meats, eggs, veg, puddings & desserts, three coffee machines, and a yoghurt machine ! Plus free parking and its close to the centre of Covilhã 殺"
