Perfect Tuscany Getaway

The perfect place for those who want to relax in beautiful Tuscany. The typical charming Italian house has all the comforts and necessities. The rooms are larger than the photos show. The location between two mountains makes the house completely private. It is quiet and completely surrounded by nature. There is a terrace for both morning and evening. The pool, located in the beautiful garden, offers cooling on hot days. The location is also perfect for those who want to explore the region. Cities such as Pisa, Florence, Siena, Assisi are a stone's throw from the house. Cortona at 10 minutes drive is also a daily hit! The host, Mauro, is the icing on the cake. He finds the perfect balance between being present where needed and absent to respect your privacy. On arrival, he has prepared 2 tapas platters and a bottle of wine. You are truly welcomed and made to feel at home. We have been to many places, but casa le celle has captured our hearts. Mauro, thank you for a perfect vacation, we will definitely come back.

Great stay

We had a pleasant time at the nice old house. The place has a lot of space and even with a bunch of people there are enough littleS places to have a quiet time for themselves. Mauro was a very nice and helpful host, and his sister cooked Tuscan food for us - delicious!

Casa le celle is a rustic farmhouse, unpretentious but full of character, located in beautiful surroundings at the end of a valley. It is surrounded on three sides by high ground the slopes of which are given over to olive groves, woodland and scrub. Casa le Celle is ideally suited to those that enjoy being in a quiet, rural location and who appreciate the natural environment. We received a friendly welcome from the owner, Mauro, who lives close by and who was a very helpful host throughout our stay – thank you, Mauro. With regard to attractions, Lake Trasimeno is just a 20-minute drive away and there are several historic and architecturally interesting towns such as Assisi, Panicale, Perugia and Spello within easy driving distance. Terontola-Cortona station is a 10-minute drive away from where direct train services go to Florence, Naples and Rome. On a practical note, there are supermarkets and shops in Camucia and numerous restaurants in the historic centre of Cortona. Our preference, though, for eating out was to go to Tuoro sul Trasimeno. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return to Casa le Celle if visiting this part of Italy again.

Charming Terontola.

This vacation was about seeing local/rural Italy. I have been 12 other times before, but always to the key cities. This time I wanted a central place to explore. This farmhouse was perfectly located between Rome & Florence and lots of small towns to visit -- one each day. The owner, Mauro (who lives just next door) was wonderful and went out of his way to help whenever possible. The bedrooms are large with a nice living room on the 2nd floor, big dining room table -- washer (drying rack) and even a dishwasher. A couple things to know: there is no AC but unless there is a heat wave, there is no need. Fans and windows with cross ventilation bring in cool evening breeze. Also, there is no wifi in the house, but there are spots outside (near Mauro's house) that work just fine. My experience there was just what I wanted a typical Tuscan "casa" that gave me the "live like a local" experience. And this time I was able to see so many wonderful places that had gone overlooked before. Oh yes, you must have a car, but of course that is the best way to get off the beaten track.

Beautiful and magical holyday resort.

Casa le Celle is truly a magical place. The magic started when we met Mauro at the train-station in Terontola, he guided us up the narrow winding road to the house where we stayed for the next 10 days. The old house was so inviting and charming. Our hosts Mauro and Gala welcomed us with vine and bread on our arrival, they were so good to us and helpful, Gala treated us with delicious cakes on numerous occasion. The house is spacious on two floors, three bedroom on the top floor and one downstairs, the surroundings gave lots of opportunities to lay back and enjoy the amazing nature, sitting areas all around in the beautiful garden, small swimming pool to cool down in the heat and hammock in the shades of the trees. We ordered dinner from our hosts on Saturday evening. They invited my wife and daughter to their house to watch when Laura, Mauro´s sister prepared for the meal and made some homemade Italian pasta. The dinner was very delicious, as was the breakfast they made for us. This is ideal location for families, both for relaxation or sightseeing as well as daytrips to Cortona, Montepulciano, Perugia and other places. On behalf of my family, thank you Mauro and Gala for making our stay so memorable, tell Tiche that the children love her. Casa le Celle gets our highest recommendation. Regards Bjarni Jarlsson

Wonderful stay in Tuscany.

Overall we had a wonderful stay! This property is very charming and in an ideal location for exploring Tuscany. It was exactly what we were looking for in terms of a traditional Tuscany house to serve as a home base for our trip. The property itself is beautiful with fruit and olive trees surrounding it and flowers on the grounds. The house is very roomy with many places to sit outside and big bedrooms, with a giant kitchen table. Note that there is no AC (as is typical in Italy) - but there were plenty of fans in the house and in the evening the air is much cooler for sleeping. The pool was wonderful and was a lifesaver for us, as we were there during a heatwave. The host, Mauro, was very accommodating and friendly and provided us with recommendations for shops and restaurants. The location of the house could not be more perfect for exploring the Tuscany area. It is only a 10 minute drive to Cortona, which is a lovely town up on a hilltop with tons of great restaurants and cafes, and sights to see. It is also located very close to Siena, Montelpulciano, and Montalcino and a beautiful lake. There are several supermarkets in the nearby town and you can buy anything you need there. The house itself is outside of the main town, so not "walkable" to cafes or restaurants. We would definitely recommend and look forward to another stay there at some point in the future.

Nous avons apprécié la localisation de cette maison vraiment très rustique en pleine nature et dans le calme absolu, ainsi que la proximité de villages et villes et thermes ancestraux à découvrir. Les enfants ont beaucoup apprécié la piscine. Mauro est très aimable et réactif à toutes les questions qui peuvent surgir lors du séjour. J'ajouterai que les installations et machines linge et vaisselle sont vétustes et devraient être remplacées. Nous garderons un très bon souvenir de ce séjour dans cette merveilleuse région.

Bellissima vacanza

Siamo stati 9 giorni in questa bellissima proprietà, gestita dal gentilissimo Mauro ! La casa è veramente bella e spaziosa con un gran bel giardino e un patio dove poter mangiare. La proprietà ha anche una piscina bellissima , ad uso esclusivo , con sdraio ed ombrelloni. All’interno del terreno c’ è la casa di Mauro (il proprietario) super disponibile ad ogni nostra richiesta e molto simpatico e la sua adorabile Tiche , buonissima. Bellissima vacanza di relax e pace immersi nella natura!

Villa fantastica

Ho soggiornato presso villa Le Celle con la mia compagna e il nostro gruppo di amici, un totale di 9 persone. La casa è decisamente ampia, molto bella. La disposizione delle camere permette alle coppie di mantenere la propria privacy. Vi è la presenza di uno spazio esterno in cui mangiare. La piscina ad uso esclusivo è decisamente uno dei punti di forza, ampia abbastanza da ospitare un gruppo come noi, magari troppo profonda per chi ha bambini piccoli. La villa è situata in un posto isolato, l'ultimo tratto di strada che giunge alla casa è sterrato, ma a pochi minuti di macchina si trovano i servizi di qualsiasi necessità. Il proprietario è una persona gentile e alla mano, di una buona disponibilità. Nella proprietà sono presenti un gatto e un cane di grossa taglia (buono e di una dolcezza particolare) Il nostro soggiorno è quindi stato ottimo, nulla da poter segnalare in maniera negativa.

Relax!

Cosa dire, Mauro è una fantastica persona alla mano, sua sorella un ottima cuoca, il casolare di famiglia è in una zona collinare immerso nel verde e nella pace, ben tenuto. I 4 bambini si sono sbizzarriti tra corse, urla e tuffi nella piccola ma necessaria piscina, per questa settimana di agosto. Serve la macchina per spostarsi ma in una mezza giornata si visitano comodamente Pienza e Montepulciano per dire, in 10 minuti si arriva nella suggestiva Cortona e in 15 sul lungolago di Castiglione del Lago. Bellissima esperienza! Grazie Mauro!

Das Haus ist wunderbar, liebevoll und nett eingerichtet, schöne Räume, man fühlt sich gleich wohl. Der Pool ist nett gelegen, eine kleine Urlaubsoase. Und Mauro ist ein reizender und großzügiger Gastgeber, der stets unaufdringlich um das Wohl seiner Gäste bemüht ist und die Anlage in gutem Zustand hält. This home is so charming. We had an amazing time spending a week here with the whole family. There is so much space for everyone to spread out and feel comfortable. There is WiFi available, but only outside near the owners home.

Mauro and Gala, the owners and next door neighbors couldn't have been more accommodating. The villa was exactly what a traveler to Italy would expect to see. From this location we explored all of Tuscany and sampled the wonderful wines from every location. Most places were a 30 minute drive with only Sienne and Florence exceeding that time. Both were reached by autostrada so were easy to explore for day trips Loved it and would highly recommend anyone looking for a real Tuscany trip Villa sits just below Cortona and is easily reached for lunch or dinner

The best place to stay in Tuscany

The pictures on the website doesn't give justice to this wonderful place. The house is very beautiful and it's located five minutes from the train station and main road. Mauro and his family are the most loving people you will ever meet. They did everything to make us feel like family. Mauro went above and beyond by assisting us with our needs and recommending the best places to visit. His sister Laura is a wonderful cook and great host. The house accommodations were as describe on the web site if not better. We highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed. At the end of our 10 day stay we felt that we found new friends. We can not thank Mauro enough for all of his kindness.

A lovely holiday

This was a wonderful place to stay for 2 weeks. Mauro made us feel very welcome, he helped us with anything we needed AND he cooked 2 amazing meals for us. There were plenty of places for different members of the family to sit - by the pool, in the shade etc. The views and silence were fantastic. It was a great spot to visit beautiful hill towns and the nearby lake. Some of the group went to Florence and the trip was so easy on the nearby rail line. We enjoyed many great BBQs but also found lovely restaurants nearby too. A lovely retreat and great value. We would highly recommend it.

Relax in paradise

We spent our vacation there with 5 adults and 3 kids and we all enjoyed this very special place in little paradise. If you look for silence and nature without being at the end of the world, we recommend this wonderful house. The owner was very kind and helpful. We felt welcome and home. The house is huge, enough space for everyone. The garden area offers enough space to play with the kids or just to have a rest. We enjoyed our meals at the nice terrace and we really appreciated the shadow places under the trees...thank you for this unforgettable vacation!
