"The outdoor living areas make this home a stand out property when visiting the Bajos Del Toro area. There are so many different options to congregate outdoors, all with details in mind for different times of day and all with comfortable furniture. We had the neighbor bring us dinner and it was so convenient and delightful. She also brought us some empanadas for breakfast and they were a fast favorite. We took the walk down to the river and it was after a particularly heavy rain so keep in mind that the walk can get very slippery so take care. The host was so helpful and communicative. I would absolutely recommend this home to others. Just keep in mind, this type of home is for the adventurers. This is located in the cloud forest where bugs, and nature abound and are part of the charm. The screened in porches are placed to allow visitors to enjoy nature while limiting exposure to insects, but don't be surprised if a little visitor or two make is past the screens. Plan accordingly."

"Selva Verda is in a beautiful location on the Sarapiqui river, slightly further off the tourist trail but a true eco-lodge. Great place to stay to immerse yourself in the Costa Rican rainforest and spot wildlife. We spotted a lot within the lodge area. I would recommend the guided nature hike which took us further into the grounds of the lodge. The guide was very knowledgeable and went at a manageable pace for our group of mixed ages. The swimming pool was good. Rooms are functional and clean and some have great views. The food was slightly disappointing but the location and experience made the stay worthwhile."

"Top marks to the staff (special thanks to Xavi, Claudia, and Esteban) who made this the best hotel during our trip as their service was with a genuine smile and helpfulness. The rooms are very simple (youth hostel standard) but it is well-kept. The surroundings (lots of birds) are magical and fresh (lovingly-prepared) breakfast and dinner was very good. It is remote (that makes it special) so you do need a car or rely on transport. Highly recommend doing the Green Rivers rafting tour and the Night Tour with Sarapiqui Xperience (all booked via the hotel). "
