About the home

“Penguins by the Beach” is a lovely townhouse in a brilliant location in central Cowes, across the road from the beach and easily walkable to the many supermarkets, cafes and restaurants Cowes has to offer. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below.

Indoor Areas

Downstairs is the second Living room (with Samsung 65" Smart TV), Bedroom 1, a Bathroom (with shower over bath and toilet), and internal access to the Garage with a Foosball table. A European style laundry (with washing machine) is located in the hallway and a dryer is available in the garage. Upstairs is the open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living area (with Samsung 65" Smart TV) opening to a balcony, plus Bedrooms 2 and 3 (each with BIR) and a Bathroom (with shower and toilet).

Outdoor Areas

The home has both a Balcony on the first floor as well as an enclosed rear courtyard. The double Garage (with internal access into the home) provides space for 2 cars. The shared facilities available include a solar-heated in-ground pool and shady BBQ area, plus some additional communal parking spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, XL air fryer, electric oven and cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The home contains two reverse-cycle, split system units one in the upstairs living room, and the other downstairs in the entrance. There is also a standalone fan for use where required.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 5 beds plus 1 foldout divan, accommodating up to 9 guests:

Bedroom 1 (Downstairs): 1 x Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (Upstairs): 1 x Queen bed
Bedroom 3 (Upstairs): 1 x set of Single bunks and 1 x Single bed

There is also a fold out Double sofa in the downstairs living room, suitable for two adults or children.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process - Local council restrictions are in place for this property and compliance is mandatory.
