"The Novotel York is the perfect place to stay when visiting York. It's a 5 minute walk from The Barbican, and only 10-15 minute walk into the centre. Carparking is £18 but you can leave the car till midnight the next day. This is great for those worried about driving into York centre. All the staff were so lovely and friendly. The room was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel restaurant. Very tasty and reasonable price. Lovely latte made by the bar tender and the restaurant staff were so attentive. Very nice stay, we would definitely stay again"
"Nice property with some interesting York railway and wartime history. Look at the framed documents and objects in the cases in the lounges and corridors."
"This is a great place to stay in York, easy walking distance to the railway station and the city attractions. The staff was friendly and the bar/restaurant pleasant. I was glad I paid extra for a riverview room which had a nice view of the minster in the distance."
DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Room was okay, one side of the room the socket didn’t work and sparked couple of times when we tried to use it; room was little too hot for us as there was no AC and windows couldn’t be opened. Staff was very helpful minus one staff member making a rude remark about my partner, spa was good can’t complain."
