Welcome by staff was very good. They were fantastic, enthusiastic to assist. Room was large, with everything we needed. Very traditional, with kettle, free water and alt milk ready. Great bar and the Garden room offered cocktails or tea. Perfect for visit to York.

Great location, great service and all services you would expect. Bar and restaurant were well serviced with a variety of food and beverages at reasonable prices. Only slight point is that parking was expensive but similar to other locations in York.

Convenient place to stay, right next to train station. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were flat, and you could hear doors closing and loud noises at night, hence the 4 stars. The room was nice and the bathroom was lovely. I enjoyed the safe and mini fridge.

A lovely hotel retaining all its original features. There is on going renovation work bring undertaken with minimum disruption. The standard of the breakfast could be improved and a few of the staff in the restaurant lack enthusiasm in their work. The majority of the staff are hard working and friendly. The spa facilities are lovely.

From the initial check in to check out the hotel and staff were amazing! The hotel was extremely clean and tidy with marvellous Yorkshire hospitality. The bedrooms were very spacious and clean with wonderful bathrooms, a large shower plus a roll top bath. The bar was very well equipped and the restaurant was very good. As we travelled up on the train, the location was exceptional, it was just next to the train station. There was an ample car park.

What can I say about this hotel other than it wholly exceeded my expectations. Firstly the location in relation to York rail station couldn't be any more convenient nor indeed to that of the main city centre. The front desk staff as well as those in the restaurant and pool / spa facilities were most friendly and very welcoming and helpful. The facilities were fantastic and our room clean and spacious. Our evening meal was most tasty too. We would love to return again

This was our second visit to The Milner and we will definitely be returning again. It's a beautiful hotel with plenty of facilities and is ideal if your traveling by train as it is right next door to York Railway Station with direct access. The staff are amazing, very friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay!

The property was clean and the room was spacious authentic old looking however breakfast was a big disappointment was not good has to be one of the worst buffet breakfasts i have had the room was freezing so food didnt stay hot coffee was not good either i would definitely stay here again but not have breakfast
