"Furniture in rooms very well kept. Carpets however, need a really good clean throughout. Breakfast was excellent and so tasty. Bar area really nice with different areas to sit. Lovely nights sleep and really powerful shower. Would recommend and stay here ourselves again"

"The property was just lovely the breakfast was yum the staff were all helpful and polite. What truly let the experience down was, The room really needs the furniture re-varnishing it was really worn and scratched truly let the room down. Also the lamps are not bright enough the room was really dark and there was no lamp on the dressing table ?? There are ceiling lights but these were too bright and ruined the ambience. The carpets are really in need of a good clean throughout. Real Shame about these issues. Room 102"

Gulliver's Resort Matlock Bath

"The park itself was fun , but our room & breakfast experience fell short. Room felt dusty, hair in the bath & cobwebs between the fridge & the unit. Very disappointing breakfast, we were immediately told there were no pastries, ( full English breakfast was available) my tea came with long life milk & when I asked for fresh , I was told there wasn’t enough as it was being kept for cereal. Only white toast available with butter completely melted. The cereal took a long time & I had to ask twice. When it finally arrived, it came with a half cup of milk I was told there was very little due to no delivery. We were so disappointed that the following morning we decided to skip breakfast at Gulliver Kingdom and went somewhere nearby instead."

"A lovely place to stay and we were in a quirky ground floor room in the old stable block which was very nice although susceptible to noise from adjoining rooms. The grounds are lovely to relax in and the food was very good (although avoid the poor, undercooked apple pie). Good breakfast. Three minor criticisms. There was no sink plug, there was no shelf in the bathroom to put your own toiletries on (we had to use the top of the radiator) and, like many hotels, in a double room there was only one chair !! However we will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone."

"The Hotel was great. We arrived around 8pm and did not have an evening meal but breakfast was fantastic. Room was spotless and had recently been refurnished to a high standard. Access was via a steep staircase so anyone with mobility issues may struggle. The only criticism was that the hotel is located on a very busy road junction so traffic noise continued all night and many large noisy lorries using the road. Also a railway track across the road so trains rumbling passed. Rooms on the back of the hotel may not hear this but room 2 was very noisy all night."

"A very clean, comfortable cottage, spacious and well equipped with everything that you need. Cosy and warm. Great walks from the door, beautiful area with all that the Derbyshire dales has to offer. There is a friendly pub across the road where we enjoyed a pint but only serving meals at weekends currently. 10 minute walk into the village where another pub, also friendly (the black swan) serves food but with a limited menu. There is an Indian restaurant where we enjoyed an excellent meal one of the best we’ve had! There is also a local Nisa store and a bakery. All in all a very enjoyable winter break."

"Great house for a New Year’s Eve get together with friends and family. Kitchen really well stocked with pots and pans with more than enough crockery and glasses for a full house of guests plus plenty of fridge freezer space. We didn’t come across anything we were missing. Hosts were great, Terence came and greeted us on arrival and also came to say goodbye at the end of our stay but left us to our own devices for the rest of the trip which was perfect. Would stay again. "
