"The room was extremely dusty with cobwebs also, my daughter was sneezing all night. I feel the room were only for in season as not been maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very confusing where to go as we arrived evening and you had to drive down to room after checking in. Feel like this is accommodation just for families staying at theme park. Bar was closed also due to a school trip."

"Ideal location in the heart of Matlock Bath. Staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel and our room were full of character with many period features. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. I would recommend this hotel."

"Our room was spacious but it was tired with the carpet and decor needing some updating, but believe this is work in progress throughout the hotel. The sofa bed was uncomfortable for our daughter. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fine, selection was good. The outdoor pool is great, but for over 18’s so families beware. But it’s fantastic, a little chilly for me but great in a wetsuit. "

"Disgusting value for money, avoid at all costs! What was meant to be a romantic trip for my fiances 50th ended up being a total let down. The hotel has issues spanning from the plumbing to general cleanliness and is going to take a considerable outlay if they ever expect the place to get any guests - far too many to mention here anyway. My main issues was with our room, as it was nearly £100 a night. Firstly the whole place is like a sauna...combine that with stale oil smell and it is very off-putting. Opening the window is fine, but we had a mountain view, so it was on the front next to the road and far too loud to sleep with wide open. The king bed had an indentation in it which made you feel like you was falling to one side - Very uncomfortable. The room next door was occupied with what I believe to be the owners family. Kids shouting at 7am with walls so thin, I could hear every single word they said when talking normally! Broken furniture, dirt and grime everywhere, portable heaters on the floor and extention cables and many many many other issues which I would expect in a Benidorm B&B, not here! "

"This cottage is in the perfect location! Pubs in the doorstep, beautiful surroundings, easy access to local attractions. The cottage itself if very well maintained, well equipped and very comfortable. We came with a 2 and a 5 year old and the bedrooms were spacious! We used a toddler bed and this would have easily fitted in the main or the second bedroom. An option of a stair-gate would have made this even better as the rooms open directly into the stairs (as with most cottages). Stairs leading up to the cottage are a little steep but doable with children. Overall we would 100% recommend this cottage!"

"Had a few nights away with my Wife. Really nice and clean. Short walk into Matlock Bath down a big hill but was not for the faint hearted walking back. You need to be fit or go in a car. Great kitchen and living room area. Also comfy bed. Definitely recommend for a chilled few days away 100% would go back"
