"It was a superb all-around experience from the moment we walked in. We were greeted with a great welcome, and our very heavy luggage, which we lugged from the train station, was quickly taken away from us and stored until our room was ready. As a bonus, once our room was ready, it was taken up and neatly stored in our room ahead of our check-in. Our check-in process with Roger was thorough and professional. The property is beautiful. Not a single disappointment. The room and bath were spacious and well-appointed—such a fantastic touch with the complimentary mini-bar. We only spent a day as a layover on our journey to Florence. I wished we had more days. This property was more of a five-star and a masterclass on hospitality."

Everything was amazing but after we had checked out and one of us had forgotten our cell phone in the room, they did drive it over to the train station and that’s going above and beyond. "Having paid for a room with the 3 twin bed option, we had to pay €35 upgrade to get the 3 beds! Then, as we were given our room key cards, they mentioned that they were having some plumbing problems… didn’t specify. I asked if this would be sorted out today… “yes, we expect so”. The next morning, the water was freezing… we had to shower in that! It’s a 4* hotel… surely, there should be some sort of refund? Otherwise, the room was great!"
