"The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Lubbock University area provides a convenient location near Texas Tech, but the property itself is showing its age and is in clear need of a refresh. While the location is ideal for visiting campus or attending local games, the overall guest experience is mixed. Check-in was an absolute highlight—smooth, welcoming, and efficient right from the start. However, the rest of the staff interactions throughout the stay were fairly middle-of-the-road. The main drawback is the physical condition of the hotel. The guest rooms and common areas feel outdated, with worn furnishings and decor that make the property feel tired rather than comfortable. It delivers a functional, baseline stay for an overnight trip, but until comprehensive updates and renovations are made, it falls short of the polished standard usually expected from the brand."

"All of the stuff were incredibly nice and helpful. Everyone I passed said good morning good day every time. The breakfast was okay the Omelette bar was exactly as I ordered so that's really good. The hotel is older so there were stains on the ceiling but the rooms were clean. However there was a really odd smell in the room again rooms are super clean the hotel was cleaning the staff were really nice the breakfast was good but the hotel room had a weird smell"
