Comfort Inn & Suites Harrisonburg

"I have stayed at this hotel a few times and it was always good enough to come back. This time, it was particularly great! Since it was family weekend at JMU, all of the hotels charge way too much, and this was no exception. However, the service provided... from the very welcome greeting from the representative at the front desk, a very nice gift basket in our room which included spirit stuff for the game as well as snacks, and free water bottles, to the rest of the staff (cleaning and other front desk reps), it was great. The lobby was sparkling clean the whole time, even on a very busy weekend. I'm definitely not saying it was worth the unreasonably high prices the area hotels charge during family weekend, but I know that is not necessarily their fault and it was nice that they tried to make up for some of that by showing their appreciation with these small gestures."

"The breakfast was fine. The dining room has a lovely ambiance. The breakfast was scheduled to end at 9:30am. The staff began to put the food away at 9:25. At 9:40 one of the staff members made an announcement requesting the guests to dispose of their trash and leave the dining room. We were ready to leave, however there were a few guests who were still finishing their meal. It seems that the customer service aspect has room for improvement."

"The hotel is old but beautiful. The floors creak when you walk which adds to the charm. Our only complaint is that there was never any staff available. Checking in took forever because no one was attending the front desk. Every time we went to the front desk, no one was there. Also, every time we called someone, we had to leave a message for a return call. I know they are probably under staffed but it’s not cheap to stay here and it’s frustrating trying to find help."

"Such a great stay. Super clean and perfect location. Staff super friendly and professional. Parking is easy and in a garage behind the hotel. We had breakfast and our server was great. Food was good. Could be a little warmer but we will return."

"Breakfast was not that good. Food was luke warm and not good value for the price paid altho staff were very attentive. Service and food at lobby bar was outstanding. Really enjoyed the historical ambiance of the property. Ideally located to easily walk to historic downtown."
