"Staying at the historic Prince of Wales Hotel is a unique and special experience. Set on a windy knoll overlooking the village of Waterton and the turquoise waters of Waterton Lake, the views towards the steep glacial formed mountains are breathtaking. What you can't tell by the photos is the taste of meals. Wow! Try the Kenow Chicken that pays homage to the Kenow Wildfire that burned 39% Waterton Lakes National Park in 2017. I was blown away by the flavors and creativity of each dish. Surprisingly, a large number of the dishes are created to accommodate dietary restrictions. The international staff took pride in their work and were enthusiastic about being there. As the Prince of Wales Hotel was built in 1926-1927, one should not expect some of the modern conveniences such as soundproof walls; earplugs are provided in every room. While we were there, we enjoyed stunning hikes in the beautiful hidden gem that is Waterton Lakes National Park."
Brand new beautiful home with best view outside of Waterton Park. UPPER suite.
10/10 Excellent
"We loved the location right on Payne Lake which is swimable. The view of the lake and mountains in Waterton was spectacular and we loved sitting out on the deck in the evening. We rented the upper half of the house. Just be aware that sound does travel from the bottom house rental to the upper house rental. The soundproofing of the floor is pretty good in the bedrooms but the door that can be opened between units does not stop noise transfer. The owner of the property was excellent and worked very hard to remedy an air conditioning issue. ( didn’t work for two days and it was 30 degrees out)
The house kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, spices, paper towels, foil and Saran and even a baby high chair and fold up crib/ playpen. Only a cutting board was missing! Washer and dryer has detergent available as well. We enjoyed our stay."
"Pros:
The cabin was very clean and cute, inside and out.
Very good amount of kitchen appliances, cutlery, towels, bedding, coffee, and tea
Loved the wolf decor, neutral palette, vinyl siding floors, and layout of the cabin.
Loved the air fryer in particular.
Nice storage under the stairs.
Well built unit as it was sound proof.
The lake was nice and playground area was fun.
Cons:
No ventilation or fan in the bathroom.
No shower in the cabin. Showers were outside the cabin located about 3 min walk away and cost $0.25 every 30 seconds and the showers are not clean. At times the machine eats the quarters and doesn’t produce water even if you follow the rules of waiting for the machine to accept the quarter. Not convenient.
The beds too soft resulting in major back pain. This hasn’t happened since Jan 2023 when I last stayed at an air bnb in Vancouver with this similar bed type.
There was no tv but that’s not a big deal."
