8/10 Good

"The property is very beautiful & charming. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. The staff were polite but not overly warm when asked for advice or help. I do not think the hotel would be suitable for anyone with accessibility issues. Our rooms toilet was in a private closet with no sink - to wash hands you had to travel across the room to the other bathroom that had the shower and sink. The pool is pleasant but small. One family of four having fun can completely make it unusable for anyone else. The grounds are big and lots of games are offered - which makes it great for a family with small kids to stay. We did not eat at the restaurant but the breakfast offered was very large buffet with lots on offer - but if you have allergies beware."

"Magnificent building in the centre of Loches, which itself is a beautiful medieval town. Staff very helpful & pleasant & the pool was lovely. Very much enjoyed our stay & would visited again when we're in the area."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel de France. It’s a great location and the hotel is full of character. Yes, it’s a bit dated but this adds to the charm. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and Loches is such a beautiful town."

"The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was just a short drive to Chatellerault. Difficult to access. Apparently the reception does not open till 5 on a Friday. We understood it opened at 12 every day. Also when we removed the plug to let out a basin of water it flowed all over the floor underneath the basin. There was no air conditioning so it was very hot."

"Good choice for exploring the Loire valley, chateaux, town and cities. Loches is a vibrant town with lots of shops and bars. There is a train station right by the residence if you need to get around and don't have a car."

"Simple, clean and effective for what we wanted. Note that you need to pay a road toll to get there (€2.60) and the same to return to the main north-south road. The breakfast was include. It was very simple but adequate. Th evening meal food was unidentifiable a stone cold. We skipped dinner! terrible! It was unind"
