Secluded, Rustic Log Cabin located in the Heart of the Black Hills near Custer
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful cabin located in the Black Hills! Minutes from the town of Custer which has grocery store, tourist shops, and food options. Excellent location to Custer State Park, wild life loop, Sylvan lake, Legion lake, Mt Rushmore, and much more. The cabin was wonderful! Very clean, great patio for sitting, yard space for running around, and a very peaceful fire pit! Kitchen and gas grill were great for cooking our own meals. Cabin was surrounded by easy to hike hills for our two boys age 13 and 10. Very quiet location! We enjoyed this cabin very much and the owners were nice and friendly."
Big Horn Lodge - Rare Cabin Bordering Custer State Park - Absolute Seclusion and Serenity
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at Big Horn Lodge! It was quiet, secluded with an abundance of stars, while at the same time provided easy access to all the things we wanted to do in the Black Hills! The best of both worlds! The house was well equipped with lots of room for everyone to be together comfortably. The hosts were attentive and responsive. We are grateful to have found such a gem! Thank you!"
Peaceful Cabin Getaway near Wind Cave and Custer National Park
10/10 Excellent
"Our family has stayed at many locations and cabins but this is by far the very best. Located 20 minutes from Custer, this property is on 160 acres of highly maintained and manicured property between two mountains. This property is tucked away on a road that has little to no traffic, a well maintained dirt/gravel road that is better than some highways. When not visiting the surrounding area, we watched deer play in the large front yard and trotting in the backyard. Beautiful birds galore. The property has a couple of orchards. A ten minute ride takes you to Wind Cave property complete with a couple of bison lazing around with the Prairie dogs. The cabin is beautiful inside and out, very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms and porches to enjoy the beauty and wildlife. The town of Custer has everything you need, and there is no lack of activities to do in this area. This cabin and it's location and property is a gem, you will not be disappointed, it really does not get any better than this beautiful place. The pictures of the cabin in the VRBO site are accurate, the pictures below are mostly of the wildlife by the cabin. If you love birds, there are several varieties and we even captured a picture of a golden eagle. We are so grateful for the owners to share this slice of heaven with us. And for those unfamiliar with South Dakota, wow, what a beautiful state."
