There is nothing within walking distance, so be prepared to spend €20-30 on each ride to town or rent a vehicle. If you don’t mind spending money on transportation then you can’t go wrong with this hotel."
"Awesome location with a spectacular view over the bay. We had a huge suite with our own private pool. Sophia and Ilias were wonderful. She was an amazing concierge and the place is very well kept. Wonderful breakfast. On a pedestrian only street that overlooks the caldera so there are unbelievable views and sunsets. "

"The Apanemo hotel was on the quieter south side of the island. The view of the Caldera from our room was spectacular. The staff was extremely friendly and the included breakfast was delicious with many choices available. Don’t miss the ruins and the beach at Akroteri which are close by. There’s a boat service at the beach for €15 round-trip per person that will take you to the white beach, the red beach and the black beach and you can get out and swim and rent loungers and umbrellas for five...

The man who ported our bags up and down the steep steps was amazing! You need to make sure you can navigate steep steps if you stay here - it is a caldera and goes way down. "
