"Rooms clean and comfortable. The entry road and area around the lodge is desperate need to upkeep and repairs. Staff was very friendly and food was good. Overall a good lodge for an overnight stay but needs a bit TLC. "

"We stayed in a Double room (Point of View) at Düsternbrook and very much enjoyed the tranquility and the incredible view at the pool and our room & deck. The staff are all kind, helpful and happy to answer all questions. Whilst driving to the lodge we already spotted heaps of animals like giraffes, warthogs, all kind of birds, baboons, Kudus, springboks etc., so driving slowly pays off. "Good ! Only bedroom no AC, the rest was fine "

"Communicating with the host was frustrating. An hour before arrival there was still back and forth communication because she did not have the booking due some issue with her Vrbo account. Booking was made for 3 guests, bedding was only provided for 2 guests. Requested additional bedding, only duvet and pillows delivered at 9am, no sheets. Give this property a miss if you want to avoid frustration and poor service. "
