"In September of 2025 appears to currently being upgraded by present owners. New room heater, hot water on demand, and refrigerator. Screen doors not sturdy enough to hold the dogs in, and truly rudimentary furniture and kitchenware."

"Most beautiful cabin in a lovely setting! Extremely well decorated. Didn’t want for anything. Hosts Joyce and Greg very helpful in taking us to the different freighter viewing sites on the island. Definitely plan to return. "

"My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!"
