Being an historical building, we hoped for more. Seems like they tried to “upgrade” but fell short. Room was outdated and could use a total redo. Neither the bar or restaurant were open. This hotel’s past was art-deco and vibrant. Those days are gone. We hoped for more.

I traveled here for business and stayed 5 nights. The public areas and the guest room were very clean. It was quiet, which I liked. The view from my room was of the Soo Locks, and just outside the hotel is a fabulous coffee shop. Just perfect for a business trip!

Excellent location, wonderful rooms, nice property. 2/3 of the staff we encountered were extremely helpful, engaged, welcoming and hospitable. The other 1/3 of the staff seemed annoyed at normal encounters, such as being asked to refill the lobby coffee in the morning, or being informed of a slow drain in one of the rooms.
