Public areas were very clean. Check in staff was very friendly. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean. Bathtub was a little beat up. plenty of hot water. Clean beds and comfortable. Quiet. Good AC. A lot of homeless people around, but they didn't bother us. It was 10 minutes from the Glaucoma institute we were going to. convenient.

The person at the check in was very nice. That being said the place is dirty. It’s clearly understaffed or they’re not trained on cleaning. The carpets in the halls were stained and grimy. Elevators hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, dirty buttons, filthy floors. The first room had so many roaches in the bathroom. So. Many. Roaches. They were very nice about it moved us immediately to the 4th floor. The room was clean no visible roaches but the entire floor reeked of weed. We would have left but we had just driven 3 hours with kids who needed to sleep for a 7am competitive event. The breakfast was depressing and you guessed it - the drink station and counters were not kept well at all. Points for waffles and syrup, the 8 YO liked it and I was able to snag yogurts. Never ever again.

La Quinta hotels are normally pretty decent for the price. But this one was horrible. Don’t do it. Please don’t do it. I Booked the hotel for five nights we got there late my first night so I was forced to stay there. The hotel charge me $110 for the first night for canceling. I should’ve been refunded my money. I slept standing up that night. The best bet for this La Quinta and the motel 6 next-door(first red flag) is to try and get government funding to house the homeless people surrounding the hotels because they definitely join you for the free breakfast.
