Hampton by Hilton Canterbury

"Clean and tidy hotel and the lady behind the bar on the Saturday night was great. Breakfast was really nice and the room was ok. Shower could do with an upgrade to maybe a lager shower head but it was fine. As its city centre it was quite noisy at the front especially as the hotel is surrounded by noisy bars that are open till late. Lucky for us we were in one of the bars until 1:30 so not to bad but this could be an issue for others."

"Staff and management very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was very comfortable with a good range of tea/coffee/biscuit selection. Happy Hour with complimentary cheese & biscuits and lots of lounge seating was great. The only issue was that the parking was expensive."

"The hotel was in a pleasant area of the city, very clean and staff were helpful. The breakfast was excellent and I slept very well. What lets it down is the maintenance. The sash cord on one side of the window in the bathroom was broken meaning it did not stay open. The toilet flush was faulty so it continually ran water after use until you jiggled the flush handle to make it stop. There was an illuminated mirror over the basin but when you pulled the on cord it flickered but did not work. The bathroom seemed recently refurbished so this was all rather disappointing. I reported the cord but it was a Friday evening and I was going out so did not expect any repair. The other matters I discovered when I returned late. On leaving the hotel there was no one at reception so wasn’t able to say anything then."

"a nice place to stay - full of character and close to main attractions. We had the attic room -ok for us but not suited to tall guests or those where a tight, steep and winding staircase would be difficult. Very good breakfast delivered to the door . We would also recommend The Corner House restaurant."

"I can not recommend this spot enough- first of all, every staff member is so warm and congenial. The room is beautiful, and the complimentary breakfast is table service (mind blowing to my American standards!). Being right in the Cathedral grounds puts you in the midst of everything but yet in a nice quiet oasis. Would come back just to stay here again."

"Beautiful accommodation in an amazing location. The bedrooms were lovely with lots of cupboard space and the ceiling fans were wonderful in the heat. The living space was very pretty and cosy, perfect for dinners and game nights, and the outside patio area was lovely! Canterbury punting company was just a 2 minute walk, local shop and pretty high-street a 4 minute walk and the cathedral was just an 8 minute walk! The hosts were helpful with any queries and with extending our stay. It’s a beautiful home and we genuinely didn’t want to leave!"
