One of the coziest, friendliest and well located spots we have had the pleasure of staying. Susan anticipated all our needs in advance and had everything ready for us upon arrival. We took a nice walk downtown to little shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.
Darien is a quaint, quiet town and you can walk from the property to downtown. Communication with property owner was timely. Accommodations were clean and everything we needed was provided. Would definitely stay here again!
This is my husband and I’s go to place when in Darien. The hosts are very accommodating and informative and are dog lovers and always welcome our pets and the neighborhood is also dog friendly. We love that we can walk to town. Highly recommend Susan’s place!
Everything was super clean and extremely well decorated. This was our final stop for our third leg of our trip to Florida to Boston and will definitely stop on the way back. Plenty of space for our boat. Great location - near 95. There are a handful of great waterfront restaurants that you can walk to as well.
I can’t say enough about our stay in Darien. Our host was generous in sharing details about the area and they were the kindest folks. The place was so cute and every small detail was on point. We travel with our dog and they provided a welcoming place for him as well. This home is in walking distance to the cute little town and the locals were all friendly. The neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful. We will definitely stay with Susan and Kenny again, they were excellent hosts and the home was very comfortable and welcoming.
Lovely guest house that had everything we needed, comfortable bed, nice shower with luxurious towels, coffee, chairs on the covered porch to enjoy the sunshine. It is easy access from I 95. I recommend the fish market for fresh seafood and Skippys Rest.seafood restaurant was
Darien is a great stop while traveling up or down the coast right off of 95 with a safe little town and nice restaurants that are pup friendly. The host is so nice. She even picked us up from a local restaurant when it poured rain! There were dog bowls with fresh water waiting for our pup. She has thought of what you need when traveling. A great stay (twice!)
We had a great visit to Darien. So enjoyed the quiet town. Visited Sapelo. Our host was great. She showed us around town and suggested places to visit and restaurants to try.Everything was super
A Clean and Charming Place with Everything You Could Need
The property is lovely. The house is beautifully kept and decorated. Everything is clean and orderly. If you could want or need it, the host has it ready for you. This is by far our favorite place we have stayed. The host is wonderful and the location is safe, quiet and quaint. It is easy driving distance to Jekyll Islamd, St Simon's Island, Brunswick and many other popular areas in the Golden Isles in GA. This is a must stay if you visit the Golden Isles!
The property is as described. Check-in and communication was excellent throughout the entire process. I stayed for 2 nights with 3 dogs and the hospitality for all guests, 1 adult and 3 canines, was fantastic. Anyone should have full confidence when considering this property.
We just needed a place in Darien for a 2 night stay…didn’t have many plans, but wanted a place with easy access for things to do in town. Susan’s place was within walking distance to restaurants & stores, and we were close to a plantation that we could drive to. The home was very clean and comfortable and Susan was always available when we had questions. We would love to stay at her place again if we’re in the area.!
Our visit to Darien for the "Blessing of The Fleet" festival was made complete by staying in Susan's cozy bungalow. Just a few blocks from the gate and nestled amongst the live oaks, it was an ideal location for our stay.It was our first trip with our fur babies, who were as relaxed and made to feel at home as we were. From the "zen life" music on our arrival to the coffee and snacks, Susan provides everthing you need for a terrific stay.Thank you!
Beautiful quiet safe getaway thats close to so many treasures!
Susan, property owner, went above and beyond providing true southern hospitality. We arrived quite late due to inclement weather and Susan messaged to make sure we were okay. She left the porch light on and several lights on inside the beautiful coastal cottage We had all the amenities and any questions Susan answered promptly. This cottage is located in the perfect location for walking to all the local restaurants, winery, antique shops, and so much more. I highly recommend and book fast because this is a very desirable location! Susan went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our stay.
I hesitate to tell you how neat this place is bc I want to stay here every time we pass through Darian. This little apartmenette is small but lives big !The place exudes charm way beyond a hotel room! It is the front end of a house that connects to the owners who live in the back . It has private entrance and the privacy is amazing plus the host Susan is very welcoming.. and we never heard a sound while we were there..It has everything one could need from chilled wine glasses in the freezer to snacks and water breakfast bars a Kerig coffee maker stocked w coffee. Lush towels in the bathroom and a mattress that we loved so much we want to buy one ! There are two tvs and brochures about the area . The neighborhood is residential and quiet. It’s a mere bock and a half walk to Skippers , a favorite seafood place we love . Thank you Susan for a wonderful stay ! We will def be back!!
We were welcomed online and everything went very smoothly. The cottage is located in a very quiet area of a coastal village with rich history. EVERYTHING you need is there, but not always in a form that you might be expecting--NO COMPLAINTS at all, as the accommodations are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged in a (much) older home that is beautifully cared for. We would like to come back to Darien and area, in fact, and would stay here.
What an amazingly cute little place to stay. Perfectly situated for easy access to all areas around town and other tourist attractions nearby. The property owner even messaged us when we arrived to let us know of local events we might find of interest.
Great stop off 95! We were heading to NC from FL and decided to break up our drive halfway and the logical spot was Darien. Cute town. Enjoyed our 1 night at Susan’s place. Exactly as depicted. Our dog really liked the stay as well! Went to the wine bar and Skipper’s for dinner as recommended and they were very good. We will make the stop again since we have family in NC!
The owner has thought of everything and I mean everything in this 1 bedroom getaway. We left with a new friend. Susan even gave us a tour of Darien on her Club car. We were walking distance to downtown Darien and the new Tabby House brewery is a must stop. I highly recommend staying with Susan if anywhere near Darien..

Darien
The portion of this house we stayed in was just fine. The description indicated it was closer to the river Darien is on - it is not.
