"Very nice cottage right on top of the famous butcher shop.Easy acces to everything.The river at the entrance gives you a relaxing mood and its very quite at night eventhough it next to the busy street.We’ve got everything we need and the owner is very communicative.The cottage needs dusting that make me sneeze all the time but other than that,we have a lovely time.thank you"

"Lovely hotel in good location. Room spacious and very clean with nice view. Staff pleasant and helpful. Booked in for dinner at 7:30. Didn’t order a starter, main courses took 1 hr to come and then 2 out of 3 sent back as they were lukewarm. No hot water for a shower in the evening or in the morning as we were told the boiler can’t cope with everyone wanting a shower at the same time."

"The house was perfect. Clean, well stocked, beautifully furnished and in a perfect location. The host was lovely and brought home made fresh bread and a lovely lemon drizzle cake. It was all wonderful."

"The George in Hathersage is ideally located to explore the Peak District National Park. We had a standard room which wasn't overly large but perfectly adequate, including a large bed. The bathroom had up-to-date sanitaryware, including a fullsize bath with shower over. From the bathroom there were a few steps up to the bedroom. Central heating, tea/coffee facilities and modern furnishings. Staff were lovely to deal with whether in Reception, or the bar, or in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Full dinner menu was also available every evening and a rather quaint service of serving pizza cooked to order all day. Car park was quite spacious, including two EV charging points, and had a barrier to control entry and exit. No hesitation in recommending The George for your stay in the Peak District. "

"Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. "
