"The resort itself is in a great location — being directly on the beach while also having stores and restaurants nearby was very convenient. The outside of the property was nice and presentable, and the staff we interacted with were friendly. It was also a gated resort, and despite there being stray cats, chickens, occasional iguanas, and birds wandering around, they were harmless and honestly added to the island atmosphere. Unfortunately, the stay itself was disappointing due to the number of issues experienced throughout our visit. There were ants inside the room daily, the toilet tank frequently would not refill which left us unable to flush multiple times, and housekeeping only serviced the room every three days, which did not make much sense for a beachfront resort where sand is constantly tracked inside. We also experienced our key card stopping working the day before checkout, loss of hot water one day, and during the repair process the water to the toilet was shut off and never turned back on afterward. Also, early morning construction noise was disruptive during the stay. While the location and staff were positives, the repeated maintenance and cleanliness issues made the overall experience far less enjoyable than expected."
