St. Maarten at Silver Shells 905 Professionally Managed by Newman-Dailey As the elevator opens to penthouse 905 and your eyes adjust to the sight of this high-end, Destin vacation rental there is a good chance that a gasp of disbelief may escape your smiling lips. In fact most guests of Silver Shells 905 find themselves saying things like “Is this view real? I can see for miles and miles! Look at these furnishings and fixtures! And the kitchen- WOW!” Yes, you may get the feeling that you’ve stepped into the pages of a luxury home magazine and so here’s some advice- enjoy every minute of it. A cool aesthetic comprised of cool grays and navies contrasted by gilded chandeliers gives this beach vacation condo an incredibly suave vibe. The main living area flows easily onto the spacious beachfront balcony decked with fine outdoor furnishings. The kitchen is truly impressive boasting a single slab of veined granite on the island, stainless steel appliances and avant-garde fixtures. Of course a beautiful home still needs to be livable which is why amenities like a full laundry room, flat screen TVs in each room and plenty of cookware add comfort to all this coolness. Beyond the kitchen lies the master suite which also enjoys beach views as well as a positively stunning master bath. White marble floors, a free-standing extra deep bathtub with an electric fireplace, a glass walk-in shower and a crystal chandelier that casts lovely prisms all around the room will have you repeating the words of those who stood here before you “Now this is what vacation is all about!” The two northern bedrooms have perks of their own like perfectly coordinated linens and a balcony with views of Destin and the Choctawhatchee Bay beyond. Although Silver Shells is located in the heart of Destin and privy to a long list of entertainment options the resort itself has some of the best amenities around- a large lagoon swimming pool, playground for the kids and a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. During Spring and Summer this condo requires a 7-night, Saturday to Saturday stay. Any other time we require a 4-night minimum stay. We do not rent to anyone under 25 or to students.

Beautiful location for a beach vacation. We were close to everything we wanted and needed. Our unit was clean and had a wonderful oceanfront view of the beach. It was clean and well maintained. The rental company was great with communicating what to expect and how to check in and out. I will definitely stay here again!

Birthday Trip

My family and I stayed at this property for my birthday and it was everything plus more! It was beautiful with an astonishing gulf view! I will definitely book again in the warmer months. It was as pictured and very clean. They had everything we needed for our stay. They have plenty of cookware and dishes, chairs and cooler for the beach, and much more amenities. It was a 10/10!

Great Location

The condo was in a great location not far from activities. It even had things to do on the property if you don’t want to go anywhere. Wish we could have stayed more days loved it. The condo look just like the pictures

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and had an incredible week. The views are great and access around the property is very easy with the key fobs. One surprise was the price of the beach chairs/umbrella rental which I tried to find out before we arrived but got no one to answer or return my call with the beach service so 5 days for 2 umbrellas and 4 chairs was an extra $130/day or $650. I then found out from most of the people staying that the beach chairs and umbrellas were included in the rental. This may help show how valuable it is to have this built into the rental when deciding what unit to stay in. Destin definitely has the best beaches!!

Spring Vacation

We loved our room and the resort was so beautiful inside and out. The weather was not the greatest, but we did not mind since it was such a beautiful location. It was a little confusing at first on how to check into our room when we arrived since we drove straight into the garage. Don’t do that go to the lobby entrance first, and have someone go up to your room to get elevator access keys to your floor. The rooms were very clean, and we loved the view from our balcony. The only issue was that since the weather was not the greatest, it would have been nice if the heater in pool was working. That pool was freezing cold and the only thing warm enough was the Jacuzzi, but there were so many kids and people in there we decided to pass on cramming ourselves in there. Other than that we had a lovely time and most importantly we will be back!!

Awesome DestinAtion

Condo had awesome views of the gulf. Sometimes you get outdated furniture/amenities at these condos. Not here, everything was perfect. We’ll be back next year. Beach bar was awesome. The girls running it are the BEST.

Good after we found where we needed to go.

Very hard to check in. Dyer in room would not dry cloths. It got hot, but never would dry. Could have used more trash bags for a 4-night stay. Everyone was very nice and friendly. We never saw the property manager.

Pros and cons

If you are looking for a vacation rental with many amenities and restaurants and bars on site this is not the place for you. If you want to enjoy the beach and relax at the pool this place is perfect. The room was well decorated even though some furniture had stains, the Linens were clean. I would definitely recommend this property to adults looking for a nice get away.

Slightly disappointed

For the price little disappointed. Silver shells in general is a hassle to get around complex, key fobs for multiple entries, elevators confusing to begin with, having private is nice but not sure it’s worth the hassle. This unit “does “ have a sofa sleeper. Stools and table chairs are white cloth that have stains, no biggie but you leave wandering if they will think you did the stains. 2br sleeps 6 3 br sleeps 8 policy is kinda ticky, didn’t affect us but could others. This unit designates “1” parking spot, plus additional “if available “, that’s ridiculous for a 3 br. We got by fine but were worried until we got parked. Silver shells is very nice resort but it’s a little too much hassle just staying there.

Girls Trip

Had a wonderful time on our annual Girls Trip. Have been staying at Silver Shells for over 15 years and it is always wonderful. This unit was very nicely appointed and of course great views!

Beautiful property

The property was wonderful. My only complaint was the lack of kitchen utensils. No cookie sheet, no hot plates and no hot mitts. We had to bake cookies in a glass pan, and the only way we could get things out of the oven was with a kitchen towel. Also no scissors anywhere to open things. Aside from that, we loved the condo!!

Beautiful property

The carpenter work upstairs was irritating at times along with the noise during the work done on the back hallway. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay at this property.

Unit was beautiful. View is amazing. Stayed with 3 couples and worked out nicely. Unit itself was very clean. My only suggestions would be update a few furniture pieces and add some more outdoor pieces. Lovely place. Would stay again.

Upscale & Spacious Beach Front Condo!

Property has spectacular direct views of the beach and pool from living, dining, kitchen, and master bedroom. Nicely decorated with all the comforts of home. Comfortably sleeps 6-8 in the bedrooms, plus the sofa as an extra. There is so much storage that we did not find the beach chairs until we were about to checkout. But, the building is ideally located with quick beach access where we did rented chairs and umbrellas just steps in front of the condo. Beach bar was a plus and had live music over the weekend. Plus, there is Ruth Chris's Steakhouse and The Back Porch are within a short walk. Management was great to work with and even assisted with meeting the InstaCart delivery for our groceries due to our flight being delayed. We arrived to them all being put away and ready for our arrival. Highly recommend staying in Silver Shells 905. Heads up to allow extra 15-30 mins time for check-in / check-out as you have to go to an offsite management office to pickup/drop-off the key. Only recommendations is for additional balcony seating, such as a couch or lounge chairs. Currently only has seating for three. Also, a cutting board (we used a plate) would be helpful and protect the beautiful marble kitchen counters. Again, a beautiful resort and condo. We will definitely be back!
