"There are lots of hotels to stay at in Kathmandu, but there is only one Shankar. Shankar has unmatched hospitality, with my personal favorite hosts Mr. Puri & Mr. Sharan who are both super stars. I always looked foward to chatting with them at meal times. Shankar has a mid-century modern motif, and it keeps the heritage of Nepal and Newari culture alive. "This was the perfect resort to stay in post our Everest Base Camp trek. The rooms were very comfortable and the shower was hot. We received excellent service from the restaurant staff, the spa services were high quality and the pool and hot tub were very relaxing. All in all we loved our stay at the Terraces and would recommend this as a great get-away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu / Thamel. Note that the road to the resort is steep and windy and I would recommend booking the transfer through the hotel as they have a Jeep and a very good driver. "
