The room was very spacious and beautiful! The breakfasts and dinners were excellent. So quiet; views of the Loire River. A lovely little town. Very welcoming.

Manoir de Basses Rivieres is a hidden gem! The property is lovely, beautifully maintained, serene, and fascinating. Be sure to explore all of the caves which are on the grounds, which have been utilized since Troglodytes lived in this area. Guillaume and Arthur are gracious hosts, and the rooms are elegantly and thoughtfully appointed. Unbelievably perfect place to stay! Note: Be sure to reach out to them directly before your arrival, as accessing the hotel is a bit tricky.

Chateau de Nazelles was a lovely place to stay and use as a base for seeing a few Chateaus within 40 minutes. The owners and their staff were especially friendly and offered very thoughtful hospitality. Our accommodations were unique and very comfortable. Just be careful making the turn into the Chateau - it is very narrow and the large stones that have been there a long time are not forgiving. Our rental car didn't have a great turning radius so this was something we really needed to watch...

This is a guest house rather than a standard hotel, although it has standard amenities. Situated in the countryside near Chenonceau castle, the property is located in a former mill house bordering the Cher river, which some rooms overlook. The house is surrounded by a large garden, with a swimming pool, pétanque court, ping pong and access to paths along the riverside. The staff is welcoming, informed, and extremely helpful, especially with advice about restaurants and activities in the area....

I have stayed in a lot of Chateaus- turned-hotels over my years of travel, so I think I can rave about this stay with credibility. It was a 10 out of 10. I loved the period architecture, the period fixtures, carvings, the 20’ ceilings, the paneled walls and matching room decor, and the thoughtful little things like the gourmet tea sachets, Nespresso/machine, and a shoe horn in the closet.

My family, including our two young children, stayed at Repère Sauvage for three nights in late June 2026, and we had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, with thoughtful attention to every detail, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool, the bicycles, and the delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly stay here again on a future trip. Highly recommended!

What a delightful experience! We decided to splurge and stay in a Château since we were going to the Loire Valley, and were so glad we did! Our room was in one of the cottages, so it was quiet and felt like we had our own house. The breakfast at the Château was wonderful, particularly for the view. Outstanding service as well! Great proximity to Tours and the chateaux.

This place is wonderful. The hosts are so kind. They met us at the front of the hotel. We stayed a wonderful room and had a bottle of wine and pate’ in the garden. Prices were so reasonable. I would go there again and again. Tell them we said hello if you go by. So close to so many wonderful things. Make sure you go down by the river. It is so serene. We had a fabulous time.

We stopped in this hotel during our trip to see the Loire Valley castles and were very satisfied with this hotel. It is just a 5 minutes walk from the Chenonceau castle and the rooms were perfectly made to make you feel in the atmosphere of the region. We had a really quaint but spacious room, perfectly cleaned and with a large and super comfortable bed.
