"A typical good rural cottage, with a helpful owner (use Google translate!), a basic breakfast is served, and there are full self-catering faciliies. It is well signposted and accessed by a short gravel road. It is a 20 minute walk into the new village for a bar/cafeteria meal (the old village is a bit further away and that was a famous Peninsular War battle site, but now it has nothing else)."

It was modern and beautiful, all appliances were new, the living space was comfortable and the host added little touches that makes all the difference to a traveler-- coffee, milk and water, along with some pastries were available for breakfast fare, soaps, first-aid and essential kitchen items were plentiful and I did not have to make special shopping trips to enjoy the basics of my stay.
