Very social hostel with organized events planned. Great location, lots of shops and restaurants, free breakfast, free coffee machine close to the bus station, comfortable places to lounge, staff is super helpful, showers are hot, clean, and good value for your money.
Areas that need improvement: Better communication in how to find the place. Need to mention that it's inside the McDonald's entrance. I kept hearing this explained time and again when it should already be explained in the...

The location is great - right in the heart of old town. I was in a private room with private bath, so can't speak to the group rooms, but mine was very comfortable. Nice firm mattress, clean bathroom, slippers provided. Only spent one night in Riga, but was very pleased with my choice to stay at Blue Bird.
