"This hotel is a great location. Easy to drive to with a rental car. It's a bit quieter so you can walk to the real crowed areas which I prefer. The parking is not included and is 30e a day, Expedia did not mention that in booking, so disappointed. The hotel has a certain smell that was bothersome to my sinuses, but everything else as clean, it is an old building. Would recommended staying here as location is great and staff was excellent. "

"Beautiful old building tastefully done up with a lot of flair. My bed was up some stairs from a lovely sitting area and all in a wonderful high ceilinged room with large window. Delicious breakfast across the way in sister hotel Palazzo Grillo. Staff went to huge trouble to make stay comfortable, booked a restaurant and then communicated with me via What's App. Overall excellent for both comfort and service. On a week's trip to Italy, this was by far the most comfortable bed."

This is NOT the case with Hotel Europa. There was no air-conditioning in the rooms -- the unit was there but the control knob was broken and it did not work. "Talk about value for money! A very nice 3 bedroom B&B with a roof terrace in the Old Town of Genoa. Large, modern and clean rooms. Excellent service and a friendly and service minded owner. It is on the 4th floor without elevator, so you have to walk up the 105 steps! But it is worth it."
