Simply excellent! Best part of our Darjeeling trip: the tea garden is beautiful and tranquil, the opposite of the busy traffic in town. Food is excellent (and all included in the room rate)! The hotel is decorated with high-end art pieces and provides a calming Zen experience from beginning to end. The staff were all very hospitable and helpful - the only aberration was we found a baby stroller in the room after our return from a side trip, and we did not ask for it. The WiFi signal was patchy. After I had to change hotels I chose to come to the Yangthang Heritage. Not only did the accept my last minute booking but also prepared a room immediately. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful with painted carvings throughout and is only a short walk to the market road. The dining was very good. The true highlight of my stay was the service. The service was exceptional and above and beyond anywhere I've stayed. If my travels ever return me to Gangtok the Yangthang...

A beautiful heritage property located in a walkable, partial steep walk to pedestrianised shopping area with bars and restaurants, amazing views all around. Expect minor property age related issues and facilities. Excellent service from local based employees. Good food and lovely and friendly people.

The lobby is really beautiful with breath taking view of d valley and d hills. Hotel staff is good. There continental food is not good. But d Indian cuisine is tasty. One hurdle is its distance from d main town. So one should be ready to shell out Rs. 400 every time they want to make a round trip to MY road and back. The hotel hardly provides its own car for d same. Overall if u want to take fresh air and keep to d serenity then this is one of d best place to stay.

Juniper Reaidency is the most convenient three-star hotel to the shared jeep stop. The proprietor helpfully arranged a half day taxi to all the nearby sites I wanted to visit and also recommended a few I didn’t know about. She also arranged a taxi for a cheaper rate than I was able to negotiate myself. The restaurant here is currently under renovation. You may need to request additional bedding. The hotel has access to all the clean water you would need.

Vivanta Sikkim is one more jewel in the beauty of Sikkim. Place is nicely designed and well decorated but above all has the extraordinary staff who’s willing to go above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Heated swimming pool overlooking the valley view gives you the best possible experience. This is a wonderful hotel. It is a family run establishment and everyone is very attentive and helpful. The breakfast is wonderful and healthy. Dinner is available in the restaurant and the food was delicious. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a great location with a stunning view of the landscape.
