"I was delighted to find the appearance of the hotel to look like a 1950's motel. It was so appropriate since we were going back in time to see Mt. Airy (Mayberry). However everything was clean and new looking. The continental breakfast was wonderful with buttermilk biscuits like Grandma use to make. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. It was a great trip and the hotel made a positive difference."

"Property has seen better days. The ice machine on the first floor was literally full of dirt and I had to find a different one. The breakfast was the worst I’ve seen at a low-cost hotel ever. No options to purchase any items from the front desk like you would find at a Marriott property. I also don’t really care for this neighborhood and area. it didn’t feel very safe."

"We needed a landing spot for a long drive to the beach and this place fit the bill. In fact, many of the guests were doing the same thing. Check in was easy. Property is dated but obviously cared for. Rooms were clean and updated. Paint was peeling off the bathroom door, but it didn’t bother us. We arrived in time to sit by the pool for a few minutes but before we could do that, we had to sign a waiver. The pool was supervised by management and rules were clearly posted. "This great property in pilot Mountain was in the back of the pharmacy on Main Street which made it private and quiet but only steps from the downtown area of shops and restaurants. We loved the arrangement of space and decor of the property and it was one of the best rentals we've ever had. Only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!"

"The apartment was perfect for our stay in Mount Airy, NC. It was clean, the owner communicated with us when needed, abundance of towels were provided, and the area was very quiet.If you’re up for a long walk, it’s a great location for Main St. It was a little further than what we thought but it was fine, free parking on the main drag."

"This rental is a fur-baby paradise. If you have a pet this is the place to rent. There’s a fenced area for your pet and the front carport has a barrier, so if you are sitting out in the carport, your fur-baby is safe. There’s even a vet list for you in case you need it. Betty is a fabulous host and the place was immaculate. I would definitely rent again from Miss Betty and highly recommend this VRBO."

"Quality mattress, bedding, & pillows (with bedding options in the closet.) Decor that inspires relaxation & calm. Along a quaint historical street with multiple stores & small cafes and taverns. Enjoyed our stay & will visit again on future long distance trips for a peaceful “rest stop.” Couches in living room are only loveseat sized, not very cushy & less than ideal for larger or taller persons, but not uncomfortable enough to warrant a complaint or deduct from our stay."
