"The Cabin Retreat at The Farm was a beautiful property, cabin was very cute and spacious and the birding was excellent! We truly enjoyed our stay and plan to come back!"

"We stayed in Winfield for our son’s wedding and booked four rooms for the weekend for family. Some stayed three nights, others two. Unfortunately, none of us would stay here again. Our bed felt like a mattress on a board, and I woke with hip and lower back pain that worsened over the stay. We were told there were no other rooms available when we asked to switch. Other family members said their beds were somewhat better, but experiences varied. The AC/heater units were very loud and rattled. In two rooms, the sink was outside the bathroom, which was inconvenient since there was no bathroom mirror. One toilet was visibly stained, which was off-putting. Positives included large, working TVs and carpet that seemed fine. However, several fans were placed in the second-floor hallway for unknown reasons. A major issue was the strong marijuana smell throughout both floors. When mentioned to staff, the response was simply “yeah” with no action taken. The key card entrance system also did not appear to be working. Our sons’ room had a serious issue with the water—it had a strong, unpleasant smell, so they avoided showering and used bottled water to brush their teeth. The hotel overall feels very dated with little to no updates. The continental breakfast looked minimal, though we did not try it. Overall, it met the basic need of lodging for a family event, but cleanliness, maintenance, and responsiveness were disappointing."

"I wasn’t expecting much for such a small, out of the way hotel. But I was pleasantly surprised. Clean and quiet and very nice staff. Breakfast was mid, but that’s kind of the norm for this kind of hotel."

"Host was easy to get in touch with when we didn’t get our check in details email. Inside the property was clean and as described. Main bedrooms mattress seemed to be of a foam filling and worn, aka you sink when you sit/lay. Outside the property was okay. Our family is highly allergic to cats and were not anticipating to be greeted by stray cats all over the property. Ultimately, we did not stay the night. "

"Place was clean but it is an older motel. Once you get over the age, you realize that it is clean and maintained for its age."

"We had a great stay! Crystal caught an error I made on the stay date, she was so kind to let my dog stay when I couldn't find a sitter, and was quick to take my call when I had a question. So glad to have a great place to stay in Dexter. Highly recommend!"
