"Great place to stay. Large spacious room and comfy large bed. Sana and his family are very welcoming and helpful. Great breakfast plus we were treated to a Sri Lankan breakfast too. Sana took us on a morning excursion where we were treated to all the local wildlife, which was such an unexpected surprise. Would highly recommend stating here. Thankyou all."

"I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely fantastic. Asela is so helpful and even takes you in his tuk tuk into town should you require anything. The property is beautifully maintained. I recommend that you take advantage of the magnificent tradition Sri Lankan home cooked dinner. It was delicious and and so cheap and we did that twice."

"Danu's homestay is the real experience. 5 star service with many smiles. If your looking for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience, this is it. Sigiriya is a beautiful little town and Lion Rock is a must do. Get up early to beat the crowds and heat. It opens at 7am. We hired a scooter but Charu the father will drive you if needed. The family are absolutely loving,kind and generous. Make sure you have dinner with them. One of the best meals I've had in Sri Lanka. Now for the suprise...

Our hosts were very helpful, arranging transportation to the World Heritage Sites and a local dance presentation. Hosts will prepare breakfasts and dinners. The dinners we ate there were excellent. "This property is in the middle of nowhere so there it comes the magic. I can’t complain about slow and poor wifi or power issues since this isn’t a hotel but a home stay. The family hosting is among the best people you could ever meet, very attentive with guests and providing an excellent service and serving a tasty land grown food. "Location is good. Lots of ants and insects in the room. Host was welcoming. But be aware of food cost. Ask price before ordering. We order seafood dinner for three. He made combination of fish, calamari, tiny crabs and few shrimp and charged 50 dollars(water for drink). We paid as we did not ask before eating. Then he came back and ask 800 rupees for driver’s break fast. We paid. A minute later he came for driver’s accommodation cost. At that point we said, NO. We stayed 2 weeks in Sri Lanka....

"An absolutely wonderful hotel, with a calm, serene atmosphere, that blends in beautifully with it's surroundings. Cinnamon Lodge is the antitheses of a generic, bland, modern hotel, which exudes a sense of unfussy sophistication. The Cinnamon Group's website does not do justice to the architecture or to how lovely the grounds are. The architect took inspiration from the ruins of nearby Ritigala temple (well worth a visit), and it's amazing how comfortably the buildings blend in with the vast grounds. The rooms are huge and nicely furnished, without being "glitzy". We stayed in a suite that was essentially a two story house, and comes with your own butler - in our case Lalith, who made our stay complete - reserving tables, remembering your favourite drink and generally anticipating your every need. The food was consistently excellent over our five night stay. The staff are all warm, charming and do their best to make your stay a memorable one. They are led by an excellent management team, who are visible, approachable and highly competent. Our stand-out memory is of the wildlife - not just at the nearby national parks, but within the hotel grounds. Incredible bird-life, monkeys, monitor lizards, and even an elephant beside the lake. This was all brought to life for us by the hotel's resident naturalist team (in particular Kintu), and we recommend you seek out their expertise. An oasis of calm, in the heart of the cultural triangle."
