Top Dolly Sods Wilderness Area Hotel Reviews

Hermitage Inn & Pub

8/10 Good

"The room at Hermitage Inn & Pub appeared recently updated and was very clean overall. Bedding and linens smelled wonderful but had visible stains. One bathroom washcloth was white; the other was dingy gray. There were hairs along the bathroom baseboards. The PTAC kept blowing the unweighted curtains open, affecting privacy. There was no microwave in the room or ice on my floor. My main concern was accessibility. I booked through Hotels.com and noted that I am a 100% disabled veteran needing a ground-floor room close to the entrance. This request was not accommodated. At arrival, I was assigned a second-floor room and learned there was no elevator. The receptionist kindly offered to carry my luggage, but that did not help me manage the stairs. I was told no ground-floor rooms were available, yet I saw rooms downstairs that appeared vacant while driving around the property. I cannot say whether they were reserved or out of service, but this left me questioning how my request was handled. I also asked about a military discount and was told they offer none for veterans or first responders. I appreciated the updated room and overall cleanliness, but the linen issues and accessibility experience were disappointing. Guests with mobility limitations should confirm their room location directly before booking."

Dog Friendly Cabin in the Woods, Hot Tub & Firepit

10/10 Excellent

"Perfect location- close to hiking, pizza, and ice cream but privatly nestled into the woods. The house was very comfortable and the spiral staircase was so charming. The hot tub was, by far, the nicest and best of any place I have rented. We are already talking about coming back to this area and will 100% see if this house is available when we do. The host was fantastic- we had 1 very minor glitch with the porch light and she responded immediately and got it working."

Private mountainside chalet bordering Dolly Sods with beautiful panoramic view.

10/10 Excellent

"This property is everything you see in the pictures and more! The decor in the house is worth the trip alone! The hosts are very responsive to any issues or questions, of which we had no issues."

Peaceful 2BR Cabin - Davis • Thomas • Canaan • Timberline Ski-Hike-Ride in WV!

10/10 Excellent

"Charming, small cabin. Cleverly placed instructions for optimal use. Close enough to the falls for walking, although there is no sidewalk. Certain aspects (shower and maybe bed) may be challenging ( small and/or tight) for taller folks. Hostess was very responsive to inquiries. Very quiet and clean, crisp air."
