"it’s an old property and not clean"

"An excellent experience all around. The staff was very accommodating from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The hotel is clean and well organized. The Bar/Restaurant area is very nice with outdoor seating and ample room. On the Saturday night we stayed, there was a local band playing live music which was nice to sit outside, have a drink and relax after a long travel. The rooms are nicely appointed, modern and comfortable with the typical amenities. Housekeeping was prompt and very accommodating. Very quiet considering there is fairly busy street nearby. The surround park is lovely for a walk or getting in some exercise. While the surrounding neighborhoods are very walkable. A short 15 minute walk to FSU's campus and minutes to good restaurants nearby. Valet and nearby self parking is a little pricey."

"On arrival, check in took about 15 minutes, not sure why as I had prebooked. 2 police cars and several officers arrived during this time. I eventually made it to my room, which was a good size with nothing but a bed, TV stand and AC unit. The floor was sticky and my TV remote didn’t work. There was only 1 battery so I went to reception to get more batteries. I was still unable to change TV channels so went to reception again and was told their TVs were tricky and was given another remote. This one worked! There are a number of shops within walking distance so I took a walk and saw the police still around. The room is very tatty but to be fair, the bed was ok and the shower was decent. Despite reservations it was fairly quiet during the night and I slept well. This place was very cheap so don’t expect much."

"Breakfast was hot and fresh. Rooms were well stocked and clean. Parking was well lit. Staff were very friendly. My only complaint was we checked in late in the evening with a reservation and the room we were givien was facing the street. Loud music is played until 10pm which the front desk told us when we tried to change rooms. We also heard loud street noise until 3 am. we have stayed at this hotel several times without having a room facing the street. My suggestion is check in early. We also paid the same price as we would have if we werent facing the street. "
