Lilleshall Abbey was founded in about 1148 for a community of Augustinian canons. By the late 13th century, it had become a religious house of great reputation and prestige. In the 14th century, however, a financial crisis contributed to a gradual dwindling of the community.

"Liz provided a lovely welcome pack for us on arrival. She was very attentive to our needs throughout. Communication before arrival was comprehensive and allowed for easy self check-in. She unhesitatingly helped sort out the WiFi and anticipated our need for an additional dining chair for a visitor, amongst other things. While very attentive, she was by no means intrusive. The house is spacious, warm and well equipped. A good stay!"

"The Dinney was in a superb location and very welcoming hosts. Breakfast was excellent. The room was beautifully decorated and had a nice view of the lake. Very peaceful too. "

"Friendly staff and food in the restaurant was great. Room needs a more thorough clean. No blackout blinds/curtains and lots of traffic going past in the morning, so we were woken early."

"We stayed in the apartment which was really spacious, it is a fabulous house with well thought out decor. Cleanliness was second to none, so if that's what concerns you when travelling, then Eagle house is for you its spotless. Andy and Helen are great hosts and very welcoming. The town is just a short walk with some lovely pubs and restaurants to choose from. Overall a fabulous stay."
