The cottage was perfect for what we wanted - a short break in a home-from-home, where we could come back from a day out and enjoy a drink in the garden or the hot tub.

Spent our first ever Christmas away from home at Lane End Cottage. It was extremely well equipped, very comfortable and a fantastic welcome from John & Jo. Would definitely recommend

Well appointed cottage ideal for four people. We enjoyed a cosy, long weekend. The hot tub was particularly welcome after country walks all day.

What an incredible stay! Upon arrival we were greeted with a gift basket as a welcome to this stunning cottage. The space was perfectly laid out for us & our two teenage children and the hot tub was a perfect way to end the days exploring around Bridport, Beaminster, Seatown & West Bay. Highly recommend and will definitely book through them again!

Beautifully decorated cottage with high standard finish and attention to detail. Light and spacious yet cosy and comfortable. It felt like home from home. Period features complemented with modern touches. An amazing country retreat.

We had a wonderful holiday, with excellent hosts next door who were on hand when required, warm and helpful but not in anyway intrusive. The garden and outside area is kept immaculate and the hot tub was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and the welcome hamper was generous, there were even treats for our dog. In terms of value for money, I can't fault it. This is a cottage with owners who really are trying to make sure that their guests will return and I really hope that we do that soon. In short, we had a wonderful week. Thank you.

We enjoyed our week here and found the cottage very comfortable, in a lovely setting. The garden was securely fenced so ideal for our small dog. Great kitchen but under-equipped - few pans, no serving dishes or cookpot, no jug, grotty old teapot, no cups and saucers, small chipped cafetiere. We felt this let down the overall quality of the experience and compared poorly with other rentals at this price.

Despite the dreadful weather, we enjoyed a four night stay in Lanes’s End Cottage: it had everything we could possibly need, with all home comforts including a lovely log burner and an Aga. The kitchen was well-equipped and the sofas and bed were very comfortable. We loved the bathrooms but, although the copper bath was absolutely stunning, it was rather too big for my short body, so we admired its appearance instead! The cottage is well-positioned for good walks to local pubs and excellent dog walks. We particularly loved that we could bring our dog, who appreciated the doggie treats, as we did the human ones! One small point - do take a Chromexast or similar device if you want to stream movies during inclement weather as there is no Smart TV. All in all, a lovely stay and we look forward to returning.

What an absolutely wonderful cottage. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jo and she explained where everything was and said if we needed anything to let her know, but the cottage was so well stocked and prepared we didn't need anything! Everything in the cottage was in fantastic condition and finished to a very high standard, from the warm Aga to the beautiful (massive) copper bathtub upstairs! On arrival we had a wonderful hamper full of lovely treats, as well as enough bits and pieces to see us through the weekend (including some croissants for breakfast). The open fireplace, with supplied logs, lends itself to a cosy evening in, and there's a track with a few fields for wonderful (if muddy this time of year) dog walks! The hot tub was certainly a delight in the rain (as it's under a wooden covering) and the babbling brook in the garden was very idyllic. We couldn't recommend this place enough for a couple (or two couples) complete with dogs!

We had a fabulous weekend here. The cottage is stunning with everything you could ever need. The contact with both Dorset Hideaways and the owner were easy and quick. The setting is peaceful but with a bit of activity to watch out the window. Highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our stay in this peaceful location. The house has been stylishly renovated and the hot tub is very well done. The chairs and table by the stream are a nice touch, and the car charging point was a bonus for us. The house is well situated to explore north Dorset and we visited several lovely gardens nearby. We also had a good day out at West Bay and Bridport. We can definitely recommend this property.

A wonderful cottage, in a great rural location, however not too far away to the pretty village of Cattistock, with its shop / cafe and soon to be refurbished pub. The cottage is well presented, spacious and with a great hot tub. Two large bedrooms, both with well equipped en-suites. ,

Absolutely lovely property. The owner lives next door and was very helpful and extremely pleasant. We will be going again next year.

We had a wonderful week at Lanes End Cottage in early September. We were blessed with lovely weather which meant we could enjoy some great walks in the Dorset countryside and return to enjoy the garden and of course the hot tub. The Cottage is so well equipped with very comfy beds. A great week away.

We had booked this trip in 2019 to take in 2020 but due to Covid we decided to roll it over to 2020 and we are so glad that we did because the location allowed us to explore our first visit to Dorset from a great starting place. When we booked the holiday it was dog friendly and we paid for and took our family pet with us, however upon arrival we were confronted with the news that the cottage no longer took dogs, not the greatest of starts and it makes me wonder what it is the booking companies in the case Dorset Holidays actually do other that slice off their booking fee. Had it not been for the civilised manner of the owner this could have been a ‘serious’ situation. Lanes End is a lovely looking property both inside and outside and is located in a quiet hamlet in the Dorset countryside within easy driving distance to the main places we wanted to visit. The owners live next door and we’re helpful with recommendations and ideas but we’re not intrusive in anyway, the cottage is well equipped both internally and externally making for a relaxing comfortable stay. Would I stay again in a heartbeat but only if the dog could come too !
