National Trust gems abound, including Abinger Roughs, Hatchlands, and Netley Park (4 miles), where ancient trees shelter wildflower-strewn clearings, and Denbies Hillside (7 miles), a dramatic chalk escarpment. Golfers will love the scenic course (8 miles), and plant lovers will enjoy a trip to RHS Wisley (14 miles).
