"Arrived in the rain but didn’t put a dampener on our stay. Super cosy cottage, with everything that we needed. Location was perfect and with fields opposite we could let our dog have a runaround before venturing out for the day. Surrounded by beautiful countryside a real get away from the usual hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lovely homemade bakes on arrival and a bottle of sparkly. Thank you Jenny & Mark"

"The first thing we noticed was how clean the place was. The apartment was exactly how the pictures showed. The kitchen was very well equipped. There were some games and playing cards, books about the area and a nice map to get your bearings. It’s super close to all the amenities. "The Lodge itself was beautiful and comfortable ideal for a family or couple with a dog, 2 bathrooms, washing machine, and so spacious!... the views of Milbrook and Plymouth from Lodge 23 are astounding. A great place to relax. Although pet friendly, I think if you own just one, well behaved dog he or she should be allowed off-lead and monitored closely...but it's a no, I understand why, but my dog is a registered working dog and it was her holiday too. Maybe a dog area should be considered...

"Excellent hotel"

South Sands Hotel

"A delightful little hotel. Staff were all pleasant and helpful, our room was spacious light and airy overlooking the beach . Quality of bedding and towels are lovely. Food very nicely cooked, good choice of menu, no greasy breakfasts, all well presented. Good variation of dinner menu. South sands beach is lovely, perfect for families. My only hesitation is that if you don’t want to drive whilst on holiday the walk to the next beach, north sands, is a very steep walk uphill and then a further walk into Salcombe itself for us of “mature years”, or for the very young. The ferry across to Salcombe is fun but stops crossing back around 6.00pm so evening meals there are out unless you can get a taxi back. We had a lovely break here and would recommend it for a quiet relaxing time."

"This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel. This time we booked a family room with a bed settee, which was situated on the Plymouth Pavillions side of the hotel, which was a lot quieter than the road at the front of the hotel (we don’t have a main road where we live, so not used to the traffic noise) . It was nice to have air conditioning in our room this time, although the unit could have done with a service, to make it more efficient. Staff were cheerful and helpful as ever, and even managed to get us an early check in. We will be back :)"
