"We spent a relaxing 2 weeks in this gorgeous period cottage. Dawn and Bette were excellent hosts and have attended to every need. Comfortable bedding, quiet and very cosy surroundings. Although only a couple of minutes from the main street it is very private and quiet. We made an excellent choice, we would recommend it to anyone looking for a base in the Cotswolds."

"This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! The hut was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable with high-quality linens and duvet/pillows. Kitchen very well-supplied with everything I needed (and more). "Lovely property just a short walk into the centre of Bourton on the water, though beware there is a very steep hill to climb when walking back. Very spacious. Lounge and open plan kitchen could do with a bit of an update. Fabulous views across the country side and so many different species of birds to view from the very large window in the lounge. Owners very kindly left binoculars and a bird book. Extremely quiet setting. Stayed Friday to Monday and it was a really lovely break. "

"This quirky cottage was a great home base for touring the Cotswolds. It's in a fantastic location for convenience but it was quite noisy and it was difficult to get a good sleep. Overall the property was comfortable and clean, but could use a bit of ongoing maintenance. "

"If anyone dreams of staying in the Cotswolds in an authentic cottage, you couldn't improve upon our stay. We had a three-generation family including two teenagers who enjoyed every moment. The cottage had every convenience and was beautifully decorated. While many tours were clogging the streets of nearby destinations around the area, we were able to walk the quiet village and fields. It was truly a delight and we can't recommend it highly enough."
