"We absolutely loved our brief stay here, would have happily stayed longer and plan to return if in the area. The property is beautiful and sits in stunning grounds, which we thoroughly explored thanks to the walk recommended by Stuart. We were made to feel very welcome by Ben at reception. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfy. We dined at the restaurant and had an exceptional meal. Stuart was once again on hand to recommend a local ale and take us through the vegan options. "Booked lake view room paying extra. However room 20 had no view. Blocked by some trees, shrubs. The extra bed was laid down on the floor. Was not a pull out sofa or proper single bed as advertised. Macdonalds is the only option in the evening . Parking is easy once it’s basically a service stop.. There is a lake behind the proprietor which is accessible and walkable."
