"We had a great stay! The room was just as the photos. There were towels, tea, a hairdryer, and a kettle. At the entrance, there were recommendations for bars, restaurants, and activities. The location is also great! What could have been better was communication prior to arrival. I had to fill out a long form to receive check-in instructions, and I also had issues with the instructions. Contact via WhatsApp was helpful and quick in resolving the issues."

"The apartments are more like a cheap hostel. The quality of the building and linens were both subpar. Here are some of the issues my family noticed during our stay: 1. no hand towels provided, only one shower towel per person. 2. all of the units’ drawers/shelves were broken/inoperable3. pictures from the listing are very misleading, for example, the rooms are lacking bedside tables, pillows, throws, etc from photos. "Parking was an additional 20 Euros per day. Breakfast was an additional 25 Euros per person per day (29 Euros if not booked through reception). No bath despite the room being described as “perfect for families”. Obviously never tried to shower two babies. Not near Ghent nor close to any convenient travel options (closest Tram is 20 minute walk away)"

"We were very pleased with our stay. We had booked a premium room, and it was nice and spacious, and came with a premium pod coffee maker. We’d originally booked a room with a view, but asked for a quiet room, and upon arrival were told that it was really only possible to have one or the other. We opted for the quiet room instead, and were given breakfast included instead to make up for the price difference. The breakfast was excellent, with both a big buffet and à la carte options. My only complaint is that the shower stall did not seem to be properly sealed - there was a small gap at the base of the door - and so if we weren’t very careful about the direction of the nozzle, it would flood the floor - we ended up using towels on the inside near the base of the shower door to create a makeshift barricade. But this was a minor issue in an otherwise very enjoyable stay. "

"I do like this hotel, despite the hiccup(s) we had at the onset of check-in. I would like to send a thank you to Ilayda, who eventually got us checked into our room. She went well above and beyond and it did not go unnoticed. She not only corrected the issues but also made up for the mishaps, immediately. Ilayda wanted to assure us that our stay at Ghent Marriott Hotel, would be as great as we expected it…and because of her, it finally was. Our room was nice and spacious. Staff is nice and friendly. Breakfast was good, I just wished they served waffles as part of the buffet breakfast. We sat at the bar 2 nights in a row, and had drinks…the lobby/bar area is beautiful. Victoria, did check on us after we checked out of our room, as we sat in the lobby waiting for our ride to the train station. She did seem very genuine, in asking about our stay…which I appreciate. However, Ilayda saved the day and our stay. "
