"The property is an absolutely perfect way to explore the area, and have a nice, quiet spot to go to relax. We loved the sunsets, the cabin was beautiful, and the outdoor sitting area/fire pit was a favorite spot to end our evenings. Loved everything about it!"

"My middle son wanted his "senior" trip to be with his whole family (dog too) and focused on fishing. This was the perfect rental for exactly that. Shaun was great with all of our questions. The cabin was perfect-- we have 3 boys (20, 17, 14) myself, my husband, and dog, and we didn't feel crowded. The boys enjoyed all the family pictures and history of the island. We spent most of our time outside-- and ate our meals in the screened-in gazebo. The boys spent most of their time fishing-- both on the dock & in the boat. They caught a trophy walleye off the dock and the biggest fish (northern) off the dock. My middle son ended up catching 50 fish during our week's stay. Our dog enjoyed roaming the island and we found a little area where he could swim. We enjoyed the kayak and spent some time in the hammocks relaxing. We were expecting the mosquitos to be awful-- but they weren't. It was a great way to get a "wilderness" feel (felt very much like Boundary Waters in the bay) with modern-day amenities. I'm sure my boys will ask to go back next summer! "

"The house is on a beautiful little hill right on the waters with some fish biting right off the dock. The house was advertised to have three bedrooms and a loft with bunk beds and a futon, but in reality, the house has two master bedrooms and a two-level loft without locking doors. In the top loft, there is a twin/queen bunk bed and two twin beds. In the bottom loft with the pool table, there is a double futon. The description in the rooms & beds section does a better job of explaining this (e.g., gameroom loft and upper loft), but this could have been clearer. The gameroom loft doesn't have curtains (and it's on the way to the upper loft), so it's challenging to sleep there in the summers when the sun comes up at 5. We expected three bedrooms with locking doors for privacy. Also, technically, there are no hot tubs, but there is a jetted tub in one of the master bathrooms. There was supposed to be free wifi but we found out it is limited to 2 GB per week only a few days before our trip. The internet was not unavailable the week we stayed, which we understand was not the fault of our host and we believe Gary tried every avenue to try to get us internet. We understand some of these misaligned expectations are partially just due to how VRBO works and maybe outdated descriptions. The fire pit and boulders outside were the highlight for our family. Kids loved scrambling safely around the house and making s'mores. "
