We love this hotel! The service standards are impeccable, the rooms are lovely and the bar/restaurant options are excellent. Due to the nature of the venue it's obviously not in the centre of the city however it's a very easy bus or tram ride into town. The complimentary tickets for the Royal Yacht Britannia are a really nice little bonus. We would recommend staying on the Fingal as its just a little bit more interesting than the humdrum of a regular hotel.

This is a great location and an even better experience- reception was great warm and welcoming . We paid for a premium room and were given the room called North Ronaldsaw, I would recommend not having this room - the room is great BUT the restaurant and bar restrooms are just above this room and as the restrooms use vacuum system so all you hear all night is that! We got very little sleep as a consequence. The restaurant was great with attentive staff and a good menu, the food was excellent! However, it’s expensive and unclear on pricing - I had the coconut foam sole as appettizer delicious ! And the crusted Halibut as entree , with a side of fries and the summer vegetables, which were amazing. But my meal as described above was £75 for the food and when the check arrived it was£55 for 2 courses + surcharges which seems unclear on the menu and honestly although great food , I felt a little ripped off when I could have had the 5 course for £80 !? A great place and experience But watch what you order

This ship/hotel was a unique luxury five star experience and the perfect respite from the business of Edinburgh during the Fringe festival. The decor and design were elegant, the service impeccable, and the food at the Lighthouse was phenomenal. Our room was spacious, our shower luxurious, and the towels and bathrobes were generously sized. Extra special touches like chilled water carafes and fresh raspberry macarons left by staff during turn down service for were appreciated. One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.

Everything was fantastic I would give 4.5 Stars! Only one issue, the brunette bar tender gave us a tongue lashing about having our own wine up stairs in the lounge and she could charge us a corkage fee, but she didn’t know the manager made an exception to accommodate us because it was raining on the deck and my hubby is in a power wheelchair. The half star was lost by her being the only one not in the know and embarrassing us, however the half star was regained by all the other employees who went out of their way to make our stay amazing. They even built my husband a ramp to access the deck so I can confidently say The Fingal is accessible for all the next guests who want to enjoy the deck and the beautiful views. Thank you Callum, Simona, and the Fingal for such an unforgettable stay! I highly recommend!!

This is a treat for our anniversary and this place is unique in its own way. We arrived prior to check in time and left our luggage at the reception and enjoyed our glass of champagne. We were given tickets to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia which we enjoyed very much. As the Fingal is part of the business of the Britannia, Fingal gives a feeling of Royalty in an modernised Britannia. The breakfast was a surprise in its top quality and variety of choices and the service is excellent! We shall return.

Such a fun, unique stay in Edinburgh! I love that the rooms are all named after light houses. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. When we told them we had a very early flight out, they offered to make us a bag of pastries to take at check out. The room was amazing— most places in cities like this are so tight, but we had a huge bed & shower. The balcony out to the deck with access to a lounge area was so relaxing.

Staff were wonderful - couldn't do enough for you. Was greeted with champagne and a history of the boat on arrival. Breakfast is fabulous, my husband is still going on about the sourdough toast. Beautiful room with lots of lovely details that are a nod to the boats history. All in all, a wonderful stay in a unique hotel. Leith is a great area for bars and restaurants and a short tram ride from the centre of Edinburgh.

Absolutely stunning. We genuinely felt special during our short stay and the staff were really nice. The food was amazing, our cabin was stunning. We just couldn’t fault anything. It was quite expensive to stay here but it was really worth every penny.

the staff here is wonderful and a nice job has been done in training the boat into a hotel. the room was very comfortable with a comfy bed and well appointed bath. the restaurant was OK. the water is very harsh on the metal boat exterior so a fresh coat of paint over some rust spots would be good. the red carpet up to the reception area is a nice touch.

Everything about The Fingal was so special. The hotel is gorgeous and spotless. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. The staff is the absolute best part of the entire experience. They are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable of the hotel and the surrounding city. We couldn’t have been happier to have spent time on board! We hope to come back again!
