Property was lovely and clean, the room was nice and spacious, bed was lovely and comfortable. As a side note, breakfast doesn’t start until 9am, which is quite a late start for most hotels, it didn’t mention this on the Expedia booking and we didn’t see any information in the hotel or in the room regarding meal times.

Wonderful staff, a great bar and the restaurant was excellent. I had the beef pie one night and the haddock fish & chips the other. I'm very glad I got the chance to stay here.

We had a great two night stay at the Ravelston House Hotel. Room was very comfortable with an excellent en suite. Tea and coffee provided and the included breakfast was also very good. Bar menu was good, can recommend the haddock. Easy links in and out of the city by very frequent buses which stop within a few yards of the hotel in either direction. We’d definitely stay there again.

It was a last minute booking with a small discount on the price so decided to go for it. The rooms looked decent, we were coming to Musselburgh and knew the hotel was central to where we wanted to be based. Unfortunately, the hotel is more of a pub with rooms rather than a hotel. The room is very small but is clean. The bathroom is very small, the shower cubicle far too small with absolutely no space to turn or bend down to pick up soap or shampoo, with no shelf to hold soap or shampoo. So, showering was not an enjoyable or relaxing experience. Add in the power-saving bathroom light that turns off and in unless movement is detected and it just becomes really annoying. There was tea and coffee available in the room but they were of average quality. All things considered, I definitely won't be rushing back.

The bedroom was clean and comfortable, had a great sleep( very quiet). The staff were friendly. Decent bar with reasonable prices. My only gripe was breakfast. The beans, mushroom, haggis and black pudding were cold. Would stay again though......

Really nice quiet place to stay, they don’t let you check in early but the staff was wonderful and the continental breakfast was perfect. A quick bus ride to get to the Royal Mile and lots of buses available. Highly recommend staying here.

Loved this place! The staff were amazing, super friendly and very helpful. The room was a bit small and the bed very soft but otherwise everything was perfect. Great location and very easy to just hop on a bus at the front door, to downtown Edinburgh. An excellent place that met all of our needs.

Loved It !!

Room was small but beautifully finished, food was excellent , service spot on and hotel has secure on site parking. Good location for travelling into Edinburgh or for walking into Musselburgh with its good range of shops etc.

Bad luck continuing???

We checked in then weather warning were sent to our phones then we were advised shopping centres around were closing so we made the decision to go home, so although the room looked nice and the bathroom very nice, we didn’t actually stay at the hotel. We had food in the restaurant before we left and it was nice enough
