Lovely stay! The hotel and rooms were beautifully designed and immaculate. Staff all very kind and courteous, always greeting us with a smile. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant, but had room service one evening along with breakfast every day, and the food quality was wonderful. Great location and surprisingly no road noise at all when in the room. My only down side was that the bed was slightly too hard for my liking, but it didn't disrupt my stay and I still slept pretty well. Would return!

Visually beautiful room and common areas. Delicious and decadent breakfast each morning. Climate control in the rooms was difficult to master without a modern thermostat. That combined with inconsiderate fellow guests made for a poor night’s sleep both nights. One thing that could be easily changed is their odd choice of an apple pie candle smell throughout the hotel. I found it putrid rather than high end.

Timeless elegance…

A beautiful, elegant, traditional Scottish townhouse hotel. A quiet oasis ideally situated in Edinburgh’s New Town, 5 minutes walk from the West End. Very helpful staff, lovely bar and restaurant and a great breakfast. You will want to return again and again. We certainly do.

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful area

Absolutely beautiful room and experience! The staff are very kind and professional, and the room was a dream! We had gorgeous views out to Leith, a very comfortable bed, lovely sitting areas, and an exceptional bathroom full of amenities and luxury. The breakfast was delicious, both the hot options and the buffet. Would recommend completely! We had an easy walk into town, but the hotel felt quiet and away from the bustle.

Beautiful boutique hotel, but …. King bed too hard for both me and partner - which was a shame because others the room was lovely. The dining room was closed for our visit which wasn’t advertised, and the hotel isn’t particularly close to other restaurants. We only found out when I tried to book a table, so a lack of communication.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The air freshener that was infused in the hotel triggered my allergies. The toilet ran constantly and the room #5 they gave us seem to be under a high traffic area and we heard foot steps all night. The decor was beautiful and very well done.
