"The whole area is just wonderful! The house was so beautiful. All the extra touches like hand painted tiles throughout, an extensive library of local creatures that may be seen and even a spotting scope. This is Costa Rica, so be aware that when you find a house gecko in the house it brings you good luck. We were very lucky! We loved it. We even spotted a red eyed tree frog on the patio!The birds around are amazing… most we have never seen before. Many, Many humming birds and butterflies. The leaf cutter ants are amazing and they are all around the grounds working busily. We heard Howlers but never saw them. Went on a night hike up the road and spotted a vine snake, frogs and lizards. And a pit viper! Patrick was instrumental in helping us plan our adventures. Very willing and had loads of ideas for what our group was interested in. Air conditioning in the bedrooms was very much appreciated. Breakfasts were AMAZING and served with a smile. Wonderful stay and great house!If you have never been to Costa Rica before, be aware that all but the main roads are potholed gravel at the best and two track at the worst. And curvy. Very, very, curvy!"

"Lake View Villa was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt embraced by the peaceful energy of the property and its surroundings. Nestled among the trees with views that steal your breath away, this home was the perfect balance of rustic charm and thoughtful comfort.One of the highlights was the wellness walking trail—a forest path that felt like stepping into another world. We were constantly in awe of the vibrant birds that graced our walks. Every step brought us closer to nature and serenity.And then there was Bigote, the neighbor’s sweet dog who quickly became our trail companion and honorary therapy pup. He greeted us like old friends, walked beside us like a loyal guide, and truly made us miss our own pups just a little less.The villa itself is clearly designed with love. Everything we needed was there—from the kitchen supplies that made cooking a joy to the cozy spaces for reading, playing games, and simply being. The view from the upstairs bedroom was breathtaking, while the downstairs offered a warm, homey vibe that made us feel deeply at peace.We worked online during our stay and used our mobile hotspot without issue. The environment made “remote work” feel more like a retreat.The owners and property managers were wonderfully kind and responsive. When we accidentally locked ourselves out one night, someone arrived to help within 10 minutes. Their kindness added to the feeling that this place isn’t just a vacation rental—it’s Pura Vida!"

"My wife and I loved this property. 3 adults and 2 children in our group. If you are okay with simple accommodations with great service and beautiful scenery you have to stay here. Grounds were immaculate when we arrived and we were greeted with 2 Toucans as we headed to our cabin. Tons of hummingbirds flying around. This place just felt so full of life! The hikes on the property were great. Took my 77yr old dad to the waterfall. He had no issues. We were the only ones there our first day and our family had the place to ourselves. It felt like our personal playground. Dinner and breakfast onsite was great and lots of food. Super fresh! Would highly recommend it if you're looking to be with nature! I will definitely come back!"

"Our stay at Casitas Tenorio B&B was the highlight of our trip, if it were available for more nights we could have easily spent several more! The cabin was jungle rustic and also roomy, high ceilinged, spacious, clean, and well appointed - privately sited right in a rainforest parcel in a cozy little enclave of other cabins, trails and the main open reception/breakfast area (we had howler monkeys, a sloth, and amazing birds every single day in the trees above and at our cabin and from the rocking chairs and porches). Don't be concerned about the lack of AC - it was completely comfortable and oftentimes quite cool. Breakfasts were homemade traditional costa rican, including fresh juice and fruit plate - they even adjusted serving time to accommodate one if our early morning excursions. Nana and Jeff were lovely people and amazing hosts sharing their pup Dingo, stories of their farm, an umbrella during a rainy spell, and especially during our amazing homestay cooking class. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with a local neighbor family, being welcomed into their home, learning more about their culture, sharing laughs, and bonus...making (and eating) delicious empanadas and tamales by hand (our teenagers particularly enjoyed the empanada process). Such a special time to truly experince and support local tico way of life and meet beautiful people. A gem of a stay! 10/10."

"If you enjoy unique places, Destino is a MUST DO! The photos are exactly what you get - no unpleasant surprises. The villa we stayed in for 3 nights has 2 bedrooms, each with an ensuite toilet and sink. Each has access to 2 showers, an indoor and an outdoor. The infinity pool was a fabulous way to cool down and relax after a day of hiking. The kitchen was fully equipped for four people with full sized fridge, gas oven and stove, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, small drip coffee machine, stove top expresso maker, and a ricemaker. There's air conditioning that we used only at night for sleeping. Dining is el fresco with wonderful views from the deck. Orlando was an excellent communicator and was super helpful and accommodating. The location is a little off the beaten path, but honestly, that's definitely part of the charm! The dirt road is steep in places, but absolutely no issues in our rented rear wheel drive Toyota Rush. The landscape is fun to explore, with plenty of kilometers to walk. There is a view of the Rio Blanco and a path/steps down to it for those who are able. You don't want to miss a stay at Destino! "
