"Property is decent, got what you paid for. Got food poisoning and was charged $500 in a medical bill. Medical facility and care were way better than expected. Food was okay in my opinion, nothing to write home about, but got the job done. Not much to do on the property besides pool, beach, and small miscellaneous activities. Definitely an older crowd, so it was peaceful and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful."

"The hotel has the potential to be a best in class place. The infrastructure is there but staff should be better trained. There was no water from 3-5 PM in our rooms for 2 days and the person checking us in AT 3:00 should have informed us of that. Instead there is a little note on the table easily missed and we didn’t see until we tried to use the restroom in the room. The restaurant randomly closes on particular days and when I asked why they said they didn’t know. Pretty property and the food at the beach place is good even if expensive. "

"Ben and I had a wonderful time at Casa Bella. The house is beautiful and exactly as shown. Lovely, well-placed, artistic touches compliment the open air plan and spacious rooms. The pool and surrounding property are delights to the senses. The surrounding shrubs and trees create a lush tropical paradise and hidden garden spaces. We loved being home and enjoyed the tranquility. Casa Bella is a short 2 minute walk to the beach. Ben and I enjoyed daily walks for miles in both directions. The location is perfect and just a 15 minute drive into the bustling town of Las Terranas, where you will find well stocked supermarkets, small fruit and vegetable stands, and anything else the heart desires. Exploring Las Terranas is an exhilerating experience in itself. The property manager, Francini, is as professional as she is warm and welcoming. It was a pleasure to be in the company of Rumelly on her scheduled visits, during which she cleaned, organized and, ensured all was well stocked. I looked forward to our chats together. Any need or thought that I had was addressed without fail--seemingly before I mentioned it to either Ru or Francini. This team of women is a credit to the property owner. You will be in the best of hands at Casa Bella. "

"This property more than lives up to the photos/description. Its proximity to a beautiful beach, pool and hot tub, big lawn for yard games, etc. made this place a huge hit with our group of friends/family. The master suite was amazing (and HUGE). The staff were what truly made it 5 stars though. They were so accomodating and kind. The food in particular was so good - it far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the BBQ, pig roast, pizza night, and had Dominican style meal for our special celebration night. Everything was perfect. Thank you!"

"The host Anthony is the sweetest person ever I stayed for 6 days with my sister and we enjoyed everything from the delicious Dominican breakfast to the magical views from the top of the hill. We look forward for our next trip"

"We loved our stay. We were in the large round building with the king bed. It is not on the beach, but the property is quite small so that was not a problem. I loved all of the space. The onsite restaurant is fantastic, but they sometimes (often!) run out of flour for the pizzas. The beach, I think may be my favorite of all time and I travel! It is so long. We never did get around to walking as far as we could go to the left, which would be west, but did go that way a bit. But we did walk to the east or right, and we were able to make it all the way to Playa Bonita in the town of Las Terrenas! Bring water, we were so dehydrated by the time we got back, but so fun to be able to walk that far. And! There were waves for body surfing, or renting a surf board or boogie board. Can't recommend enough!"

"If a view is important to you, definitely consider Villa Estrella del Norte. The view is absolutely stunning.Villa is not air conditioned, but each bedroom has a ceiling fan and constant breeze meant we rarely used them.The road to the villa from the highway is very steep, but is navigable in an ordinary car without 4X4. 35 minutes from El Catey airport.The local property manager, Randy from AIC Dominicana in Las Terrenas, had excellent communication. Via phone, text, email, WhatsApp. Always replied quickly. Solved 2 issues promptly. Booked a taxi to pick us up from airport, and had small amount of food we asked for waiting in the frig.The maid (and cook if you want), Nina, arrived each morning and made our beds and cleaned. The caretaker/security officer, Roberto, lives in his own house on site and tended the pool and grounds and provided 24/7 security. We used Google Translate to communicate. Lovely people, both.The pool is not heated. 24C-27C in Feb, which was OK for some people but not for others.Willy's Taxi Service provided excellent service with good cars. 25 USD/1500 DOP one-way from villa to Las Terrenas. Communicated via translation function on WhatsApp.Scotiabank ATM in LT is convenient way to exchange money. Use Canadian debit card, withdraw DOP. If Scotiabank or Tangerine customer, no withdrawal fee, only the exchange rate, which was best in town. If debit card from other bank, 300 DOP fee.Highly recommended"
