"The King's Little Pathway" spans the El Chorro gorge at a height of 100m. It was built in the early 1900s as an access path between nearby hydroelectric plants. The bridge got it's name in 1921 when King Alfonso XIII crossed it to help inaugurate a new dam.

The path rises to the bridge from either side of the gorge, snaking dramatically along the sheer cliff face. In recent years the path has been closed to all but rock-climbers, as many portions of the pathway had crumbled away.

However, the Spanish government recently completed a three-year restoration of the pathway, including guardrails, and it just opened yesterday - March 28, 2015! The 6€ entrance fee will be waived for the first six months, but you'll need to make reservations in advance: http://bit.ly/1BzhH8Y. Also, bear in mind that the path is one-way, so check the return bus schedule, or book a return crossing as well!

"Convenient location in the center of town, so the night street life is loud especially on weekends (I had earplugs so not a problem). The rooftop patio is quite pleasant even if up two floors from the apartment. Located in an historic building, the unit itself has been thoroughly renovated. "

"Paqui and Mike are really nice, welcoming , and arranging people, it was a nice to be able to see the feria on the balconny during this week! But the titre is wrong. There was no jacuzzi (since covid19), and no amazing view since it is upstairs, at their home... If you want to see this view, you have to walk up through their house... The only floor you have permanent access to is the first one, with the red couch. The rest is theirs, including the washing machine which you can't use yourself."

Faultless. Loved it so much.

"We had a wonderful week. The villa was amazing, and so much to do. The swimming pool, with inflatables, karaoke, table tennis, football game, basket ball, a pool table and the list goes on. Very clean and well eqipped, tv in all the bedrooms. It realĺy is the perfect villa. The chickens are so adorable, and the fresh eggs were delicious, far too many for us to eat. Our hosts were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our holiday was the best it could be. Thank you both so much. We hope to come back one day."

Close to Alcazaba

"Very comfortable apartment, top floor with good views. Parking was very easy (wide entrance) and felt secure. Good location, very short walk to the Alcazaba, short walk down into town. Views from rooftop was beautiful. Only thing to note was that a) cleaners in the morning were loud & came into our room with knocking and b) likely because we were on the top floor, the wifi was weak."
